PRAYING IN THIS WAY

1 John 5:14-15

And this is the boldness we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

1 John 5:14 (NRSV)

            Surely you have asked more than one time whether or not you are praying the right way, and if you will receive an answer.  First, you should know that when you pray, God truly listens to your prayers.  Every time you send your words to the heavens, there is the Lord listening to you.  All that you have asked, God has heard. And more: even before you cry out, God already knows your needs, God knows everything you have done and the decisions you have made.  God knows if you have made a mistake or if you have fallen due to not letting God guide you. 

            Then how should we pray?  How to break this barrier that many times keeps us from opening our hearts to God?  The essential thing is to be sincere.  A valid prayer is that which we make with humble faith, from the deepest part of our hearts, ready to accept the will of the Father, an open prayer to listen to God’s Voice.  God waits for us every day, even though we may only have a minute to be alone, it may be the most genuine moment of our day.

            Today let us ask God in our prayers to help us have sufficient humility, repentance, sincerity, and faith so that we may grow closer to God.

 

Prayer:  Lord, bless us.  Help us to go forward strengthened in prayer, not forgetting that you always hear us, and that you respond according to your will.  Amen.

ORANDO DE ESTA MANERA

1 Juan 5:14-15

Y esta es la confianza que tenemos en Dios, que si pedimos alguna cosa conforme a su voluntad, él nos oye.

1 Juan 5:14

            Seguro te has preguntado más de una vez si oras de la manera correcta o no, y si recibirás respuesta. Primero, debes saber que cuando oras Dios en verdad escucha tus oraciones. En cada momento que diriges tus palabras al cielo, ahí está el Señor escuchándote.  Todo lo que has pedido, Él lo ha escuchado. Es más, incluso antes de que clames Dios ya sabe tus necesidades, conoce todo lo que has hecho, las decisiones que has tomado. Sabe si te has equivocado, si has caído a causa de no dejarte guiar por Él.

            Entonces, ¿cómo debemos orar? ¿Cómo romper esa barrera que muchas veces nos impide abrirle a Dios nuestros corazones?  Lo esencial es ser sincero. La oración válida es la que hacemos con fe humilde, desde lo más profundo de nuestro corazón, dispuesta a aceptar la voluntad del Padre, una oración abierta para escuchar Su Voz.  Dios todos los días nos espera, aunque sea solo un minuto, pero que sea el momento más sincero de nuestro día.

            Hoy pidámosle a Dios que nos ayude a tener la suficiente humildad, arrepentimiento, sinceridad y fe en nuestras oraciones para estar más acerca de Él.

 

Oración: Señor, bendícenos. Ayúdanos a salir adelante y fortalecidos en la oración, no olvidando que tú siempre nos escuchas, y respondes conforme a tu voluntad. Amén.
