Mothers’ Day

LOVING GOD COMES FIRST

Mark 12:28-34

Jesus answered, “The first is, ‘Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one; you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’

Mark 12:29-30 (NRSV)

Jesus always spoke clearly to whoever listened to him, although in many situations he was not understood. On this occasion, Jesus insists on explaining the significance of God–who is unique–to whoever shows his love.

He alerts all the people of Israel: he wants them to understand that the Lord, their God, is One; no comparisons. There is no other God! There is no other way to experience peace, joy and justice other than through the God of Love! There can be no other opportunity in our lives for a first  love: the one God who is Life and Truth. The main commandment has to be to act with gratitude and consistency towards the full love that is God himself.

The heart, soul, mind and strength are images of utmost relevance to the human being. Therefore, Jesus invites you to love God–your God–with everything you have... until the last outcome. It is the commandment of commandments! Loving God is the starting point of relating to each other with sincerity and the freedom of love. God reigns; God is near; God is family; God is “oneself.”

Love God and everything else will be added!

 

Prayer: Lord, we want to love you with all our being. We want to love as you do: to the last outcome. In the nae of your beloved son Jesus, Amen.

Día de la Mujer

AMAR A DIOS ES LO PRIMERO

Marcos 12:28-34

Jesús le respondió: El primer mandamiento de todos es: Oye, Israel; el Señor nuestro Dios, el Señor uno es. Y amarás al Señor tuDios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente y con todas tus fuerzas. Este es el principal mandamiento.

Marcos 12:29-30

Jesús siempre hablaba con claridad a todo aquel que le escuchara; aunque en muchas circunstancias no fue entendido. En esta ocasión, Jesús insiste en explicar la significación de Dios –que es único- para quien le manifieste su amor.

Alerta a todo el pueblo de Israel: quiere que comprendan que el Señor, su Dios, es Uno; sin comparaciones. ¡No hay otro Dios! ¡No existe otra manera de vivir la paz, el gozo y la justicia que no sea por medio del Dios Amor! No puede haber otra oportunidad en nuestras vidas para a amar primero: al Dios único que es Vida y Verdad. El principal mandamiento tiene que ser el actuar con gratitud y coherencia hacia el amor pleno que es Dios mismo.

El corazón, el alma, la mente y las fuerzas son imágenes de suma relevancia para el ser humano. Por lo que Jesús invita a amar a Dios –su Dios- con todo lo que se tiene...hasta las últimas consecuencias. ¡Es el mandamiento de los mandamientos! Amar a Dios es la clave y punto de partida para relacionarnos con la sinceridad y la libertad del amor. Dios es reino; Dios es prójimo; Dios es familia; Dios es "uno mismo".

¡Ama a Dios... y todas las cosas te serán añadidas!

 

Oración: Queremos amarte, Señor, con todo nuestro ser. Queremos amar como tú lo haces: hasta las últimas consecuencias. Por tu Hijo amado, Jesús. Amén.
