RETURNING TO YOU

Luke 15: 1-3; 11-32

But we had to celebrate and rejoice, because this brother of yours was dead and has come to life; he was lost and has been found.

Luke 12: 32 (NRSV)

It’s very easy to lose our way, confusing life with the sustenance of our riches. Avarice and power make us great for an instant, but finally our bodies experience the marks of the stumbling blocks. Our eyes are cast down so as not to see the evil we have done. We hit rock bottom and the abyss mocks us at how simple we are. But that is not the way. It is not your way, Lord.

Give us the chance to shout ENOUGH. Let’s go back to our Father’s house from which we must never leave. Let’s prostrate ourselves at the feet of the one who loved us first and who always has arms open to receive us.

Rejoice, Lord, throw us a feast because we are committed to never leave you. Smile because despite our stubbornness you remain above all.

You do not reject the heart that comes sad and repentant because you are the way, the truth, and  life, and those who return are your children.

 

Prayer: Lord, open your arms; I don’t want to lose you anymore. I want to be your child. Amen.

REGRESO A TI

Lucas 15: 1-3; 11-32

“Más era necesario hacer fiesta y regocijarnos porque este era muerto y ha revivido; se había perdido y es hallado.”

Mateo 12: 32

Es muy fácil perder el rumbo. Desafiar la vida con el sustento en nuestras riquezas. La avaricia y el poder nos hace grande por un instante pero al final nuestro cuerpo sufre las marcar de los tropiezos. Nuestras cabezas bajan para no ver el mal que hemos hecho. Tocamos fondo y el abismo se burla de cuan simples somos. Pero este no es el camino. No es tu camino, Señor.

Danos la oportunidad de gritar BASTA. Volvamos a la casa de nuestro Padre, de donde nuca debemos salir. Postrémonos a los pies de aquel que nos amó primero y que siempre tiene los brazos abiertos para recibirnos.

Alégrate Señor, haznos una fiesta porque nos comprometemos contigo a no dejarte. Sonríe porque a pesar de nuestra terquedad tú permaneces por encima de todo.

Tú no rechazas al corazón que viene triste y arrepentido porque eres el camino, la verdad y la vida y quienes vuelven son tus hijos.

 

Oración: Recíbeme Señor. Ábreme tus brazos, no quiero perderme más de ti. Quiero ser tu hijo. Amén.
