THE GPS

EZRA 8:21

“I will instruct you

and teach you the way you should go,

I will counsel you with my eye upon you.”

Psalm 32:8

What an extraordinary invention! When a vehicle is equipped with a GPS, this device, which orients itself thanks to various satellites, can guide us, taking into account even the smallest of details. To orient one’s life, a believer doesn’t need to utilize a guidance system, since he can count on the Lord himself.  This Guide knows all the circumstances and obstacles in our lives; he also shares our joys and sadness. As hard as the difficulties may be, the Lord always wants to trace a pathway for those who seek his thoughts and his direction.

It’s obvious that a GPS doesn’t work if it’s not activated. In the same way, the believer who doesn’t seek a personal contact with the Lord will have the temptation of wanting to direct his own life. But this will be a failure.

It’s imperative that we always maintain contact with the Lord Jesus! This relationship is established and perpetuated through prayer, by reading the Bible, and through communion together with other brothers and sisters of faith. Through prayer I can lay bare all of my difficulties and worries to God. By reading the Bible I learn to discern his will. To live in faith in community implies that we can share our burdens, to make our passing lighter in our faith journey.

The Lord doesn’t leave us isolated in this search for direction. His Spirit dwells in each believer and leads us to the whole truth expressed in his Word.

Prayer: Do not abandon us in the journey; may we always maintain direct contact with you. In your name we pray. Amen.

ESDRAS 8:21

“Te enseñaré el camino en que debes andar

sobre ti fijaré mis ojos”

Salmo 32:8

¡Qué extraordinario invento! Cuando un vehículo está equipado con el GPS, ese dispositivo que se orienta gracias a varios satélites, puede guiarnos teniendo en cuenta hasta los más mínimos detalles. Para orientar su vida, el creyente no necesita utilizar un sistema de guía, ya que puede  contar con el Señor mismo. Ese Guía conoce todas las circunstancias y obstáculos que hay en sus vidas, también comparte sus alegrías y tristezas. Por duras que sean las dificultades, el Señor siempre quiere trazar un camino para los que buscan su pensamiento y su dirección.

Es obvio que un GPS no trabaja si no está activado. Del mismo modo, el creyente que no busca un contacto personal con el Señor, tendrá la tentación de  querer dirigir por sí mismo su vida, pero eso será un fracaso.

¡Mantengamos siempre el contacto con el Señor Jesús! Esta relación se establece y se mantiene mediante la oración, la lectura de la Biblia, la comunión junto a otros hermanos y hermanas en la fe. A través de la oración puedo exponer a Dios todas mis dificultades y preocupaciones. Por la lectura de la Biblia aprendo  a discernir su voluntad. Vivir la fe en comunidad implica que podemos compartir las cargas para hacer nuestro paso más ligero en el camino de la fe.

El Señor no nos deja solos en esta búsqueda de dirección. Su Espíritu habita en cada creyente y nos conduce a toda la verdad expresada en su Palabra.

Oración: Señor,  no nos dejes perder en el camino y que siempre mantengamos el contacto directo contigo. En tu nombre oramos, amén.
