HE DOES NOT FORSAKE US

HABAKKUK 3:1-19

Lord I have heard of your fame;
I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord.
Repeat them in our day,
in our time make them known;
in wrath remember mercy. (NIV)

Habakkuk 3:2

Sometimes things are so bad we don’t know what to do. Everything is terrible and going wrong. At those times some people make extreme decisions. Others succeed in waiting. Others confide in their own strength and what comes to them through different beliefs. There are others who understand that their lives are in God’s hands and work out their problems in communities of faith.

In the middle of the prophet Habakkuk’s prayer, he shows us the way. He expresses a reverent trust in God, whose past deeds enable him to hope for a renewal of compassion and divine love in the present, in spite of everything. He also affirms that God’s ways are everlasting, and that God’s intervention on behalf of his people means happiness, renewed strength, and final salvation.

Although everything seems to be going wrong, much of it may be our own fault, due to lack of love, a life not always committed to the faith, and insincerity. God is there eternally, fighting for our freedom. Let us remain in him, in his love, and give ourselves a new chance in life.

Prayer: Lord, I beg you to walk with me every step of my life. Amen.

ÉL NO NOS ABANDONA

HABACUC 3:1-19

Lo que oigo acerca de ti, Señor, y de todo lo que has hecho, me llena de profunda reverencia. Realiza ahora, en nuestra vida, tus grandes acciones de otros tiempos, para que nosotros también las conozcamos. Muéstranos así tu compasión

aun en medio del enojo.

Habacuc 3:2

A veces estamos tan mal que no sabemos qué hacer. Todo parece estar mal, todo sale mal. En esos momentos algunas personas toman determinaciones extremas. Otras logran esperar. Otras confían en sus fuerzas y en las que le vienen de diversas creencias. También están quiénes entienden que su vida está en las manos de Dios y trabajan sus problemas en comunidades de fe.

El profeta Habacuc en medio de su oración nos abre el camino. Expresa una confianza reverencial en Dios, cuyos hechos pasados lo llevan a la esperanza de revivir la compasión y el amor divino en el presente, a pesar de todo. Así también afirma que los caminos de Dios son eternos y que su intervención a favor de su pueblo significa alegría, razón de nuevas fuerzas y la salvación final.

Aunque todo parezca estar mal, aunque mucho esté mal como consecuencia de nuestras culpas, desamor, de una vida no siempre comprometida desde la fe, y no seamos suficientemente serios, Dios está allí, eterno, batallando por nuestra libertad. Permanezcamos en Él, en su amor, y nos daremos una nueva oportunidad en la vida.

Oración: Señor, te pido que me acompañes en cada paso que doy en mi vida. Amén.
