FAITH AS SMALL AS A MUSTARD SEED

MATTHEW 17:14-21

“… If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Matthew 17:20

We all wish to have greater faith, especially when we have gigantic problems.  Most of us greatly practice our faith.  We sit on chairs without first testing them; we use electrical home appliances without first analyzing how they work. And yet we do not usually go around complaining and saying: “I sure would like to have more faith in chairs and small appliances, etc.!”  But we do often say: “I would like to have greater faith in God!” And we need to be tested in order to strengthen our faith.

Jesus did not say to his disciples:  “Have more faith in God.” He simply said: “Have faith in God.” Many Christians have faith in their faith instead of faith in God.  Jesus taught that faith the size of a grain of mustard seed is sufficient if it is planted in the soil of God’s greatness.  The sooner you plant your mustard seed of faith in God, the sooner you will be able to rest in his faithfulness.

Prayer: Lord, allow our prayers to lean on your power and not on our own strength. Amen.

TAN SÓLO COMO UN GRANO DE MOSTAZA

MATEO 17:14-21

“… si tuviereis fe como un grano de mostaza, diréis a   este monte: pásate de aquí a allá, y se pasará”

Mateo  17:20

Todos deseamos tener más fe, especialmente cuando tenemos problemas gigantescos. La mayoría de nosotros practicamos mucho la fe. Nos sentamos en sillas sin probarlas antes, usamos equipos electrodomésticos sin analizar antes cómo funcionan. Sin embargo no solemos ir por ahí quejándonos y diciéndonos: “¡Cómo me gustaría tener más fe en las sillas, los equipos, etc.!”  Pero muchas veces decimos ¡Quisiera tener más fe en Dios! Y exigimos pruebas para fortalecer nuestra fe.

Jesús no dijo a sus discípulos: “Tened más fe en Dios”. Sencillamente dijo: “Tened fe en Dios”

Muchos cristianos tienen fe en su fe y no fe en Dios. Jesús enseñó que una fe del tamaño de un grano de mostaza es suficiente si se siembra en el terreno de la grandeza de Dios.

Tan pronto siembres tu grano de mostaza de fe en Dios, podrás descansar en su fidelidad.

Oración: Señor, permite que nuestras oraciones descansen en tu poder y no en nuestras fuerzas. Amén.
