LIFE IS A GIFT OF GOD
PHILIPPIANS 2:1-4
“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I
may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me---the
task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.”
Acts 20:24
T here is a growing
inclination in today’s world to see life as if it were not worth much. People
devalue their lives with addictions, depressions, low self-esteem and lack of
feeling. Acts of violence are further indications of the low value placed upon
another’s life. Life, however, is a gift of God and Paul suggests that, even if
we value it as a gift, our lives can be enriched. There are limitless possibilities. The first
people with whom we should share the message of new life in Christ are those
who do not appreciate the value of life.
Showing God’s love through our testimony and our prophetic message will
make others discover the value of their own lives. We value our lives when we complete the task
that Christ Jesus gives us.
Prayer: Beloved Lord, help us to defend
life and to complete the task that you gave us to announce the good news of
your salvation. Amen.
LA VIDA ES UN
DON DE DIOS
FILIPENSES 2:1-4
“Para mí, sin embargo, mi propia vida no
cuenta, con tal de que yo pueda correr
con gozo hasta el fin de la carrera y cumplir el encargo que el Señor Jesús me dio
de anunciar la buena noticia del amor de
Dios”
Hechos 20:24
Hay una creciente inclinación hoy en día a mirar la vida como si no valiese
mucho. Las personas desvalorizan sus vidas con adicciones, depresiones, baja
autoestima y falta de sentido. También los actos de violencia, indican la poca
estima de la vida ajena. Pero la vida es un don de Dios y Pablo sugiere que,
aunque la valoremos como un regalo,
nuestra vida puede ser enriquecida. Hay posibilidades sin límites. Los primeros
a los que debemos compartirle el mensaje de la nueva vida en Cristo es a
aquellos que no aprecian el valor de la vida. Mostrar el amor de Dios con
nuestro testimonio y nuestro mensaje profético hará descubrir a otros el valor
de sus vidas. Valorizamos nuestra vida cuando completamos la tarea que Cristo
Jesús nos da.
Oración: Amado
Señor, ayúdanos a defender la vida y a completar la tarea que nos distes de
anunciar la buena nueva de tu salvación. Amén.
