MATURITY

PHILIPPIANS  2:1-11

“Then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.”

Philippians 2:2

If work that you have begun is given to someone else, and you are able to watch without feeling bitterness- that is maturity.

If you can listen to someone criticizing you, even maliciously, and you can learn something from it without feeling hurt- that is maturity.  

If you can have inner peace with God during this period of frustration- that is maturity.

If you suffer from constant pain and you can still sing and praise God, hiding your suffering out of love for others- that is maturity.

If you can get out of bed at an early hour in order to pray, when you would prefer to sleep, because you know that this is where God’s power is rooted- that is maturity.

If you can listen to someone presenting a point of view opposite to yours, and you accept his or her right to have an opinion without feeling yourself to be superior- that is maturity.

If you can grant greater importance to love toward Christ and his Church than to the desire for material things and personal gains- that is maturity.

Prayer: God of love, help us to mature in you, in the presence of others. Amen.

MADUREZ

FILIPENSES  2:1-11

“que colméis mi alegría, siendo todos del mismo sentir,

con  un mismo amor, un mismo espíritu,

unos mismos sentimientos.”

Filipenses 2:2

Si puedes ver que te quitan una obra que has comenzado, y se la dan a otra  persona, sin sentir amargura- eso es madurez.

Si puedes escuchar que alguien te critica, aun con malicia, y puedes sacar de ello una lección sin sentirte herido- eso es madurez.

Si puedes tener paz interior con Dios en esta era de frustración- eso es madurez.

Si sufres un dolor constante, y todavía puedes cantar y alabar a Dios, escondiendo  el sufrimiento por amor a otros- eso es madurez.   

Si puedes salir de la cama a hora temprana para orar, cuando preferirías dormir, porque sabes que allí radica el poder de Dios- eso es madurez.

Si puedes escuchar que alguien presenta un punto de vista opuesto al tuyo, y aceptas su derecho a tener una opinión sin sentirte superior- eso es madurez.   

Si puedes dar más importancia al amor hacia Cristo y su Iglesia que al deseo por las cosas materiales y las ganancias personales- eso es madurez.

Oración: Dios de amor, ayúdanos a madurar en ti, ante la presencia de los otros. Amén.
