HIS JOY COMPLETE IN YOU
JOHN 15:1-17
“I have told you this so that my joy may be
in you and that your joy may be complete.”
John 15:11
One of the hymns we sing in Church says:
“Great joy in my soul today resides, because Jesus with me today abides.”
The presence of God is the source of Christian
joy. Being with Jesus, talking with Him
and listening to his voice each day; this is our source of joy. It is not the same type of joy that the Lord
calls “my joy” or of those others,
even the legitimate ones, joys that the world and its triumphs can offer. This
is a special state of identification with the Lord that does not necessarily
have to be at odds with life in all of its manifestations. It is something akin
to being able to fully enjoy the same things that we only half enjoy when we cannot
talk about them and share them with the Lord.
Listen to his voice today and you will have
his joy made complete in you.
Prayer: Oh God of
mercy, grant that I may have a close communion with you today, that we may constantly be able to hear
your voice and have your joy made complete in us. Amen.
SU GOZO CUMPLIDO EN TI
JUAN 15:1-17
“Estas cosas os he
hablado, para que mi gozo
esté en vosotros, y
vuestro gozo sea cumplido”

Uno de
los himnos que cantamos en la Iglesia dice: “Grande gozo hay en mi alma hoy,
pues Jesús conmigo está”
La presencia de Dios es
la fuente del gozo cristiano. Estar con Jesús, hablar con Él y escuchar su voz
cada día; esa es nuestra fuente de gozo. No es la misma clase de gozo lo que el
Señor llama “mi gozo” y aquellos otros, aun los legítimos, goces que el
mundo y sus triunfos pueden ofrecer. Este es un estado especial de
identificación con el Señor, que no tiene necesariamente que estar reñido con
la vida en todas sus manifestaciones. Es algo así como poder disfrutar a
plenitud las mismas cosas que solo disfrutamos a medias cuando no podemos
hablarlas y compartirlas con el Señor.
Hoy oye su voz y tendrás
su gozo cumplido en ti.
Oración: Permíteme oh Dios de
misericordia, tener tan estrecha comunión contigo en el día de hoy, que podamos
constantemente escuchar tu voz y tener tu gozo cumplido en nosotros. Amén.
