GOD ANSWERS OUR PRAYER

ACTS 1: 12-14

“They all joined together constantly in prayer…”

Acts 1: 14a

A few weeks ago my daughter planted a few cuttings from the so-called paper flowers.  Several days went by and they seemed to have dried up.  In spite of it all, she continued watering them.  One day we saw a tiny green sprout poking out of one of them. A few days later another two had miniscule new leaves.

We often think that God does not respond to our requests and that He remains indifferent.  The perseverance of our prayers allows us to discover the “sprouts,” the responses that we may not be expecting at times, but that end up being the true solution to our concerns.

Prayers constitute our strength, our nourishment, and keep us in permanent communication with the Lord.  “Pray without ceasing” is the Gospel’s constant invitation.  Let us pray in order to give thanks, to intercede for those who need physical and spiritual health, and to remain loyal in the faith.

Prayer: Lord, thank you that through prayer we have the opportunity to draw nearer to you and to find the strength to do your will. Allow prayer to be a part of our daily lives. Amen.  

DIOS RESPONDE NUESTRA ORACIÓN

“Todos ellos perseveraban en la oración…”

Hechos 1: 14a

Hace unas semanas mi hija sembró varios gajitos de las llamadas flores de papel. Pasaron los días  y parecía que se habían secado. A pesar de todo continuaba regándolos. Un día en uno de ellos vimos un mínimo brote verde. Varios días después  otros dos tenían pequeñísimas hojas nuevas.

Muchas veces pensamos que Dios no da respuesta a nuestras peticiones y que se mantiene indiferente. La continuidad de nuestras oraciones permite encontrar “los brotes”, las respuestas que algunas ocasiones no son las que esperamos, pero que resultan  la verdadera solución a nuestras preocupaciones. Las oraciones constituyen nuestra fuerza, nuestro alimento y nos mantienen en comunicación permanente con el Señor. “Orad sin cesar” es invitación constante del Evangelio. Oremos para dar gracias, para interceder por los que necesitan sanidad física y espiritual y para mantenernos fieles en la fe

Oración: Señor, gracias porque por medio de la oración tenemos la  oportunidad  de acercarnos más a ti y hallar la fortaleza para hacer tu voluntad.  Permite que la oración esté en nuestro diario quehacer. Amén.
