FOLLOW ME

 

JOHN  1:43-51

“...you are the Son of God, the King of Israel.”

John 1:49

 

I am certain that this has happened to you.  At one time or another you spoke to a store attendant or a cashier and told him that you were given the incorrect amount of change.  Generally speaking, the employee’s reaction was discourteous, if not downright aggressive or angry.  The situation changes when you tell them that the error was made in your favor.  At that moment the employee wanted for “the earth to open up and swallow him”. 

 

Very few people received a personal calling from the Teacher. And yet, in advance, Nathanael had a very different opinion of Jesus, which would qualify him as “a true Israelite, in whom there is nothing false.” Even so, he is commonly known as one of the apostles by the name of Bartholomew.

 

We don’t know your opinion of Jesus, but we do know what Jesus thinks of you. You are part of the reason that He lived, died and resurrected. Don’t throw stones at the person who offers you roses. If we accept him as Savior, “Close up your quarry because He is enlarging his rosebush.”

 

Prayer: Lord, help us to throw roses back in return for the roses thrown at us; and when stones are thrown at us, help us to throw back roses as well. Amen.

Seguro estoy que esto a usted también le ha pasado. Alguna vez llamó al dependiente o cajero y le dijo que su vuelto no era correcto. Por lo general la        reacción del interpelado fue poco cortés, por no decir agresiva o airada. La situación cambia cuando usted le señala que se equivocó en contra suya. En ese momento quería que “la tierra se abriera y se lo tragara”

Muy pocas personas fueron llamadas por el Maestro de forma personal. Sin embargo Natanel a priori, tuvo una opinión de Jesús muy distinta que lo calificara: “un israelita en el cual no hay engaño. “Así y todo se acepta como miembro de los apóstoles con el nombre de Bartolomé.

No sabemos que opinión tú tienes de Jesús, pero sí sabemos qué Jesús piensa de ti. Tú eres parte por lo cual Él vivió, murió y resucitó. No le tires piedras a quien te ofrece rosas. Si le aceptamos como Salvador, cierra tu “cantera” que Él está ensanchando su rosal”.

 

Oración: Señor, ayúdanos a devolver rosas cuando nos tiren rosas; y cuando nos tiren piedras también devolver rosas. Amén.
