GUIDED BY THE SPIRIT

ACTS 16:6-10

“After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.”

Acts 16:10

In the wide universe of evangelization that would open up for the followers of Jesus, any distance was short and every destination was possible.  Paul and Timothy, however, were guided by the Spirit in a direction different from the one they had planned. 

 

Today as well, we should very alert about the things that we plan with the conviction that they are best for us, for our family, for our Church. Our senses should be very sharp in order to recognize God’s voice when we insist on following our own pathway, no matter how straight and necessary it may appear. We should allow ourselves to be guided by the Spirit and we should be willing to change our plans. Let us acknowledge that humans propose, but God decides.  Let us say to the Lord:  “Here I am…”, and trust, because the will of God is always what is best for our lives.

 

Prayer: Forgive us, Lord, when we only wish to listen to our own voices and to do our own will.  At the end of this trimester we give you thanks for your
Word, and we ask that you guide us through our paths, always trusting in your promises. Amen.

 

 

 

GUIADOS POR EL ESPÍRITU

HECHOS 16:6-10

“Cuando vio la visión, en seguida procuramos partir

para Macedonia, dando por cierto que Dios

nos llamaba para que les anunciásemos el evangelio”

Hechos 16:10

En el amplio universo de la evangelización que se abría para los seguidores y seguidoras de Jesús cualquier distancia era poca y cualquier destino posible. A Pablo y Timoteo, sin embargo, el Espíritu les guía en una dirección diferente a la que ellos habían planificado.

Hoy también debemos estar muy alertas acerca de las cosas que planeamos con la convicción de que es lo mejor para nosotros, nuestra familia, nuestra Iglesia. Nuestros sentido deben estar bien aguzados para reconocer la voz Dios cuando insistamos en seguir nuestro propio camino, por recto y necesario de andar que este parezca. Debemos dejarnos guiar por el Espíritu y estar dispuestos a cambiar nuestros planes. Reconozcamos que el ser humano propone, pero Dios dispone. Digamos al Señor: “Heme aquí…”, y confiemos, pues la voluntad de Dios siempre es lo mejor para nuestra vidas.

 

Oración: Perdónanos Señor, cuando sólo queremos escuchar nuestra voz y hacer nuestra voluntad. Al finalizar el trimestre te agradecemos por tu Palabra y te pedimos que nos guíes por tus caminos, siempre confiados en tus promesas. Amén
