ENJOY YOURSELF

HEBREWS 1:1-9

“Rejoice in the LORD, you who are righteous, and praise his holy name.”

Psalm 97:12

Enjoy yourself in life, with the day that God has given you. Life has not been given to you as a painful burden that you must carry by obligation, but so that you will live it fully and abundantly with the joy that comes from Him.

 “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself,” the Lord tells us. Do not routinely recite this verse without internalizing it and making it your own.  Try to replace pessimism and negativity with trust and hope in God. Make his promises your own, hope in Him, be thankful for his love, for his goodness.  Enjoy his blessings and do not allow anything or anyone to snatch them away from you, because God has given them to you; you are unique and very important for his Work.

Discover your gifts, serve, share, give; free yourself from the burdens that keep you from being yourself.  Remember that “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”

Ask the Holy Spirit with faith to be with you, to fill your life, to be your guide and teacher, and enjoy yourself, rejoice, sing, dance, let God fill your spirit and praise Him in everything always.

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for changing my sorrow into dance, for filling me with joy.  Therefore I will sing praise and glory to you and will not be silent. Thank you for the joy that you give to my life. Amen.

“Alégrense, justos, en el Señor y alaben su santo Nombre”.

Salmo 97:12

Diviértete con la vida, con el día que Dios te regala. La vida no se te ha dado como penosa carga que obligatoriamente tienes que llevar, sino para que la vivas plena y abundantemente con el gozo que viene de Él.

“No te afanes por el día de mañana porque cada día trae su propio afán” nos dice el Señor, no repitas este versículo por rutina sino interiorízalo, hazlo tuyo. Trata de reemplazar el pesimismo y la negatividad por la confianza y la esperanza en Dios.  Haz tuyas sus promesas, espera en Él, agradece su amor, su bondad, disfruta sus bendiciones y no permitas que nada ni nadie te las arrebate, porque Dios te las ha dado a ti, tú eres único y muy importante para su Obra.

Descubre tus dones, sirve, comparte, entrega, libérate de las cargas que te impiden realizarte. Recuerda “que las cosas viejas pasaron, en Cristo, todo se ha hecho nuevo”.

Pide con fe al Espíritu Santo que te acompañe, que llene tu vida, que sea tu guía y maestro, y disfruta, diviértete, alégrate, canta, baila, llena tu espíritu de Dios y alábalo en todo siempre.

Oración: Gracias Señor, porque has cambiado mi lamento en danza, me llenaste de alegría,  por eso a ti cantaré gloria mía y no estaré callado. Gracias por el gozo que regalas a mi vida. Amén.

WHY IS THE HOUSE OF GOD NEGLECTED?

NEHEMIAH 13:6-11

Why is the house of God neglected?

1 Corinthians 3:16

God’s people had neglected their relationship with Him, in the midst of a national crisis, after the exile to Babylon.  The walls of Jerusalem were destroyed, and all the utensils used for worship had been removed.   But the worst thing was that the people had forgotten the most important thing:  their relationship with God.

Even within the context of a crisis, we should mind our relationship with God, because we are the temple of his Spirit.  When the Prophet Nehemiah returned from Babylon to Jerusalem he was alarmed and cried out: Why is the house of God neglected?

Let us therefore acknowledge when we neglect the temple of the Spirit that we are: What happens when we come to Church one Sunday after another pretending that everything is fine in our Christian life and it is not?  How often are we running on a spiritually empty tank? We play the religious game but we don’t become alarmed by those areas in our lives that need spiritual renovation, areas that can be chapped, or even destroyed. Committing our lives to God with devotion and recognizing the spiritual need to return again and again to the Father in the love of his Son, with the strength of the Holy Spirit, is fundamental to our growth as people of faith.  Let us therefore examine ourselves in the light of the Word of God and in obedience rebuild our relationship with God as did the prophet Nehemiah.

Prayer: Forgive us, Lord, for not watching over and constantly caring for our relationship with you.  Grant that we may draw nearer to you each day in the renewal of your precious love and forgiveness. Amen.

¿POR QUÉ ESTÁ LA CASA DE DIOS

ABANDONADA?

y que el Espíritu de Dios habita en vosotros?

El pueblo de Dios había descuidado su relación con Dios, en medio de la crisis nacional, luego del exilio a Babilonia. Los muros de Jerusalén estaban destruidos, todos los utensilios de adoración habían sido quitados. Pero lo peor era que el pueblo se había olvidado de lo más importante, su relación con Dios. Aun cuando estemos en un contexto de crisis, debemos cuidar nuestra relación con Dios, pues somos templo de su Espíritu. Cuando el Profeta Nehemías vino de Babilonia a Jerusalén se alarmó y expresó: ¿Por qué está la casa de Dios abandonada?.

Reconozcamos pues, las veces en que descuidamos ese templo del Espíritu que somos: ¿Qué sucede cuando domingo tras domingo venimos a la Iglesia, aparentando que todo anda bien en nuestra vida cristiana y no es así? ¿Cuántas veces estamos estancados espiritualmente? Jugamos a la religión pero no nos alarmamos por esas áreas de nuestra vida que necesitan renovación espiritual, áreas que pueden estar agrietadas, incluso destruidas. Rendir nuestras vidas a Dios con devoción y reconocer la necesidad espiritual de volvernos una y otra vez al Padre en el amor de su Hijo, con la fortaleza del Espíritu Santo, es fundamental en nuestro crecimiento como personas de fe. Examinemos pues a la luz de la Palabra de Dios y como el profeta Nehemías  reconstruyamos en  obediencia nuestra relación con Dios.

Oración: Perdónanos Señor, por no velar y cuidar nuestra relación contigo constantemente, permítenos acercarnos cada vez más a ti renovándonos en tu precioso amor y perdón. Amén.

…you have one Teacher, the Christ.

The Pharisees’ problem was that they were concerned with appearances; they fought desperately to make a good impression, feeling superior to others. Jesus likes for his sons and daughters to live a life of obedience, not just by being good, but by giving testimony of life in the love of God.  He wants for things to begin to be cleaned from within, in truth, love and faith and not just in outward appearance.  The only way to be reborn in the truth is to go to Jesus, allowing the marvelous character of the Son of God to be reflected in the life of a person, not by human works, but by the Grace of God.

We find many examples in the Bible of people, who went to Jesus just as they were, and they learned how to live together with Him, and at the end of their days they were reflecting the character of Jesus.

Do not be afraid to commit yourself to Jesus as you are today; do not allow your errors to distance you from Him. Draw nearer to Him instead; learn how to live together with Him and allow Him to reproduce his marvelous character in your life.

Prayer: God of mercy and goodness, accept me on this day as I am, as I desire to live together with you every instant of my life.  Use me, Lord, for your work in such a way that I can reflect and share your love with others.  In the sweet name of Jesus, your Son. Amen.

TAL COMO SOY SEÑOR

…tenéis un solo Maestro, el Cristo

El problema de los fariseos era que estaban preocupados en lo que se veía, luchaban desesperadamente para dar una buena impresión, sintiéndose superiores a los demás.

A Jesús le gusta que sus hijos e hijas vivan una vida de obediencia, no sólo que sean buenos,  sino que den testimonio de vida en el amor de Dios, pero él quiere que las cosas empiecen a ser limpiadas por dentro, en verdad, amor y fe y no solamente cuidando las “apariencias”.

La única manera de renacer en la verdad es ir a Jesús, permitiendo que el carácter maravilloso del Hijo de Dios se refleje en la vida de las personas, no por las obras humanas,  sino por la Gracia de Dios.

En la Biblia encontramos muchos ejemplos de personas que fueron a Jesús tal y como eran, aprendieron a convivir con Él y al final de sus días estaban reflejando el carácter de Jesús.

No temas entregarte a Jesús así como eres, no permitas que tus errores te alejen de él, sino acércate más, aprende a convivir con él y deja que el reproduzca  en tu vida su carácter maravilloso.

Oración: Dios de misericordia y bondad, acéptame en este día así como soy,  pues deseo convivir contigo cada instante de mi vida. Úsame Señor para tu obra de tal manera que pueda reflejar y compartir tu amor con mi prójimo. En el dulce nombre de Jesús, tu Hijo. Amén.

LISTEN FOR AND SEE THE LOVE

1 JOHn 4:7-12

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear…

1 John 4:18

There are moments when we are too shy to express the love we feel, out of fear of embarrassing the other person or of embarrassing ourselves.  We are afraid to say “I love you” and we try to communicate the idea using other words.  We say:  “Take care of yourself,”  “Be good,” etc. But these are actually different ways of saying “I love you” and “What happens to you is important to me.” At times the only thing that we want to say and the only thing that we should say is the only thing we don’t say. We need to listen for the love in the words that others say to us.  A nickname said tenderly carries greater affection and love than feelings which are expressed in an insincere manner.  An impulsive embrace or a kiss says “I LOVE YOU,” even when the words express something different.  Any expression of concern for another person says “I love you”.

We say “I love you” in many ways:  with birthday gifts and with little notes and drawings, with smiles and at times with tears.  At times we show our love when we remain silent, without saying a word, and at times even by speaking abruptly or through an impulsive action.  Oftentimes we have to show love by forgiving someone who has not listened to the love that we have tried to express. 

It is neither the presence nor the absence of people that makes the difference.  A person can be accompanied even when alone.  Being present with someone is not the issue.  The point is to be present for someone. So remember:  If you love someone, tell them.  Remember to always say what you feel.  Never be afraid to express yourself to yourself. Take advantage of this opportunity to tell someone what he or she means to you.  Do not hesitate to take full advantage of the day.

Prayer: Thank you for your love, my God of goodness. Grant that we may have that same love in our lives, and above all else, that we may express it without fear. Amen.   

ESCUCHAR Y VER EL AMOR

1 Juan 4:7-12

Donde hay amor no hay  temor. Al contrario,

el amor perfecto echa fuera el temor,

Hay momentos en que somos tímidos para expresar el amor que sentimos,  por temor a avergonzar a la otra persona o avergonzarnos nosotros mismos, Dudamos de decir “Te quiero” y tratamos de comunicar la idea en otras  palabras. Decimos: “Cuídate”, “Pórtate bien”, etc.  Pero realmente, estas son diferentes maneras de decir “Te quiero”,  “me importa lo que te suceda” .  A veces la única  cosa que queremos decir y la única cosa que debemos decir, es la única cosa que no decimos.  Debemos escuchar el amor en las palabras que las otras personas nos dicen. Un apodo dicho cariñosamente porta mayor afecto y amor que los sentimientos que son expresados de manera poco sincera.  Un abrazo o un beso impulsivos dicen “TE AMO”, aún cuando las palabras digan algo diferente.  Cualquier expresión de preocupación de una persona por otra dice “Te Quiero”.   Decimos “Te amo” de muchas maneras: con regalos de cumpleaños y con notitas dibujadas, con sonrisas y a veces con lágrimas.  A veces mostramos nuestro amor cuando nos mantenemos en silencio, sin decir una palabra, y a veces incluso hablando bruscamente o con un acto impulsivo.  Muchas veces tenemos que demostrar amor perdonando a alguien que no ha escuchado el amor que hemos tratado de expresar. No es la presencia o la ausencia de la gente lo que hace la diferencia. Una persona puede no estar solitaria aún cuando esté sola. No es un asunto de estar presente con alguien.  El asunto es estar presente para alguien. Así que recuerda: Si amas a alguien díselo.  Recuerda siempre decir lo que sientes.  Nunca tengas temor de expresarte a ti mismo.  Aprovecha esta oportunidad para decirle a alguien lo que significa para ti.  Aprovecha el día y no tengas reparos.

Oración: Gracias mi buen Dios por tu amor. Permite que tengamos en nuestras vidas ese mismo amor, y sobre todo , que podamos expresarlo sin miedo. Amén.

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!

1 John 3:1a

Being sons and daughters is a true privilege. Growing up in a physical and spiritual sense under the care of our mothers, fathers or other family members gives us that first sense of community, of the secure and indispensable place that is the family.  The text from John’s epistle that we have read today reassures us that there is a power greater than any other, the love of God that has adopted us as his sons and daughters. Being part of “the family of God” was an unknown concept for the religion of that time.  Even today, the possibilities that God opens to us upon revealing to us that we are a part of His family through his son Jesus, the Christ, have yet to sufficiently soak into us as human beings.

But this privilege, as was to be expected, also brings certain sacrifices. These sacrifices are not found in the form of holocausts or offerings. Instead, they have to do with the ability to commit ourselves to one another in love and in righteousness.  The highest example of such a sacrifice was made by Jesus himself, in his consistent walk toward the kingdom of God.   With such an example to light the way, it would be difficult to err. And yet we need to acknowledge that we often depart from this straight path.  Therefore our prayer to God can be:

Prayer: Lord, forgive me for not being capable enough of responding to your call.  Grant that everything we do be for your glory and honor. Amen.

ser llamados hijos de Dios. Y lo somos.

El ser hijos e hijas es un verdadero privilegio. Crecer en un sentido corporal y espiritual al cuidado de nuestra madre, padre u otros familiares deviene ese primer sentido de comunidad, de espacio seguro e imprescindible que es la familia. El texto de la Epístola de Juan que hemos leído hoy nos da la seguridad de que existe una fuerza mayor que cualquier otra, el amor de Dios, que nos ha adoptado como hijos e hijas suyos. Ser parte de la “familia de Dios” era un concepto desconocido y renovador para la religión de aquella época. Hasta hoy día, no ha calado lo suficiente en nosotros como seres humanos, las inmensas posibilidades que Dios nos abre al revelarnos ser una familia con él a través de su hijo Jesús, el Cristo.

Pero este privilegio, como era de esperar, también aporta ciertos sacrificios. Estos sacrificios no se encuentran ya en términos de holocaustos u ofrendas. Más bien tienen que ver con la capacidad de entregarnos a otros y otras en amor y en justicia. El sumo ejemplo de tal sacrificio lo protagonizó el propio Jesús, en su consecuente camino hacia el reino de Dios. Con tal ejemplo como lumbrera sería difícil errar. Sin embargo, debemos reconocer que en más de una ocasión nos desviamos de recto camino. Así que nuestra plegaria a Dios podría ser:

Oración: Señor, perdóname por no ser lo suficientemente capaz para responder a tu llamado. Permite que todo lo que hagamos sea para tu gloria y honra. Amén.

COME FOLLOW ME

LUKE 14:25-33

In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.

According to many Bible scholars, this is one of the most unpopular verses in the Scriptures: acknowledging that the things which tie us down do not allow us to draw near to Jesus and to recognize him as our God.  In many other moments in the Bible Jesus shows us that in order to follow Him the first thing is to leave behind the things that seem most important to us.  He spoke in those terms to the young rich man when he was interested in entering the kingdom of heaven. This is what happened with the disciples when in obedience they followed his footsteps in order to begin a new stage toward abundance without giving a second glance at the sea that had been their life sustenance.

One must be very clear that Jesus does not allow his followers to be anxious about anything other than gaining Him for one’s salvation. It is very difficult to understand how many of his followers have left behind material riches, friends, pleasures and even their families in order to follow in his footsteps.  Following him implies not looking back, not living in the memory of the past. Brothers and sisters, Christ calls to us every day.  Do we respond?  Are we convinced of the why and wherefore of our responses?  The calling has as its goal the accomplishment of a mission:  it implies change, commitment, willingness, obedience and a good amount of faith.  Let us walk trusting that, by following in the footsteps of the Teacher, we shall lack nothing; we can leave everything behind.

Prayer: Father and our Lord, thank you for making yourself known in the little things and for  showing us the way, the truth, and the life. We need nothing more.  Amen.

Según muchos biblistas, este es uno de los versículos de Las Escrituras más impopulares: se trata de reconocer que las cosas que nos atan, no nos permite acercarnos a Jesús  y reconocerlo como nuestro Dios. En muchos otros momentos de la Biblia Jesús nos muestra que para seguirlo a Él lo primero es dejar atrás las cosas que nos parecen muy importantes; así le habló al joven rico cuando estaba interesado en conseguir el reino de los cielos, así ocurrió con los discípulos que  sin pensarlo dos veces miraron la mar que era su sustento de vida y en obediencia continuaron detrás de sus pasos para el comienzo de una nueva etapa hacia la plenitud. Se trata de tener muy claro que Jesús no permite que sus seguidores estén preocupado por otra cosa que no sea ganarlo a Él para su salvación Es muy complicado  lograr entender que muchos  de sus seguidores han dejado riquezas materiales, amigos, placeres e incluso hasta la familia para continuar tras sus huellas. Seguirlo implica no mirar atrás, no vivir en el recuerdo de las cosas pasadas. Hermanos y hermanas,  Cristo nos llama todos los días ¿Respondemos nosotros? ¿Estamos convencidos por qué y para qué le respondemos? El llamamiento tiene como propósito cumplir una encomienda;  implica cambio, compromiso,  disposición, obediencia y mucha fe. Andemos confiados que,  siguiendo los pasos del Maestro, nada nos faltará,  dejémoslo todo.

Oración: Padre y Señor nuestro,  gracias porque te reconocemos en las pequeñas cosas y porque en ti encontramos el camino, la verdad y la vida. Nada más necesitamos. Amén.

Gabriel García Márquez passed away a little over a year ago. One of his best known texts has served as a farewell from this great literary genius: 

“If for a single moment God were to forget that I am but a marionette made of rags and were to give me a slice of life, I would make the most of that time.  I might not say everything I thought, but I would definitely think everything I said.  I would assign value to things, not according to what they are worth, but according to their significance.  I would sleep little and dream more:  I understand that for every minute that we close our eyes, we lose sixty seconds of light.  I would walk when others come to a halt, I would awaken when others are sleeping. If God granted me a slice of life, I would dress simply, I would fall flat on my face in the sunshine, leaving uncovered not only my body, but also my soul.  I would prove to men how mistaken they are to think that they stop falling in love when they get old, without realizing that they become old when they stop falling in love.  I would give wings to a boy, but I would allow him to learn to fly on his own. I would teach the elderly that death comes not with old age, but rather with forgetting. 

I have learned so many things from you; from men…I have learned that everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, without knowing that true happiness comes from the manner of its steep ascent. I have learned that when a newborn grabs hold of his father’s finger with his tiny fist for the first time, he has caught hold of him forever. I have learned that a man only has the right to look down upon another when he needs to help him to get up. There are so many things that I have been able to learn from you, but it really will not be of much use, because when they put me away inside that suitcase, I will unhappily be dying.

Always say what you feel and do what you think. If I knew today that it was going to be the last time I would see you sleeping, I would embrace you strongly and pray to the Lord to be able to be the guardian of your soul.  Nobody will remember you for your secret thoughts.  Ask the Lord for the strength and wisdom to express them. Show your friends and your loved ones how important they are to you…”

Prayer: Lord, may our daily prayer be these verses from Psalm 90.

SE DESPIDE UN GENIO

ECLESIASTÉS  12:1-14

Señor, enséñanos a contar bien nuestros días,

 para que nuestra mente  alcance sabiduría.

Hace poco más de un año falleció Gabriel García Márquez. Uno de sus textos más conocidos ha servido como despedida de este gran genio de las letras: “Si por un instante Dios se olvidara de que soy una marioneta de trapo y me regalara un trozo de vida, aprovecharía ese tiempo lo más que pudiera. Posiblemente no diría todo lo que pienso, pero en definitiva pensaría todo lo que digo. Daría valor a las cosas, no por lo que valen, sino por lo que significan. Dormiría poco, soñaría más, entiendo que por cada minuto que cerramos los ojos, perdemos sesenta segundos de luz. Andaría cuando los demás se detienen, despertaría cuando los demás duermen. Si Dios me obsequiara un trozo de vida, vestiría sencillo,  me tiraría de bruces al sol, dejando descubierto, no solamente mi cuerpo, sino mi alma. A los hombres les probaría cuán equivocados están al pensar que dejan de enamorarse cuando envejecen, sin saber que envejecen cuando dejan de enamorarse. A un niño le daría alas, pero le dejaría que él sólo aprendiese a volar. A los viejos les enseñaría que la muerte no llega con la vejez, sino con el olvido. Tantas cosas he aprendido de ustedes, los hombres... He aprendido que todo el mundo quiere vivir en la cima de la montaña, sin saber que la verdadera felicidad está en la forma de subir la escarpada. He aprendido que cuando un recién nacido aprieta con su pequeño puño, por primera vez, el dedo de su padre, lo tiene atrapado por siempre. He aprendido que  un hombre sólo tiene derecho a mirar a otro hacia abajo, cuando ha de ayudarle a levantarse. Son tantas cosas las que he podido aprender de ustedes, pero realmente de mucho no habrá de servir, porque cuando me guarden dentro de esa maleta, infelizmente me estaré muriendo. Siempre di lo que sientes y haz lo que piensas. Si supiera que hoy fuera la última vez que te voy a ver dormir, te abrazaría fuertemente y rezaría al Señor para poder ser el guardián de tu alma. Nadie te recordará por tus pensamientos secretos. Pide al Señor la fuerza y sabiduría para expresarlos Demuestra a tus amigos y seres queridos cuanto te importan…”

BE COURAGEOUS

JOSHUA 1

“Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous.  Do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:9

What a sense of tranquility is experienced by those who feel security and trust in each thing that they do and for which they struggle until they get what they want!

In this biblical story God is giving a new mission to Joshua, after Moses’s work was concluded before the people of Israel upon their entry into the Promised Land. Moses had met his commitment through many difficulties, but he had been obedient to God throughout his leadership. God is now calling Joshua to continue this work.  Of course, the task is a new one and in order to achieve it by himself, He is asking him to “be strong and courageous” but He also tells him “Do not be discouraged” and most importantly, “for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

We are Christian men and women today who have responsibilities that this same God of Moses and Joshua places in our hands, and on occasion we are seized by fear, discouragement and doubt about whether He is or is not by our side.  I invite us to seek God and to never forget His promise, because He will be with us in the same way wherever we may be.  We need only think and remain firm and obedient.

Prayer: God and Lord of history and of life, grant that wherever we may be doing the work with which you have entrusted us that we may never forget that you are with us and that we can serve you in love and obedience always. Amen.

Yo soy quien te manda que tengas valor y firmeza. No tengas miedo ni te desanimes porque yo, tu Señor y Dios, estaré contigo dondequiera que vayas."

¡Qué tranquilidad experimentan las personas cuando sienten seguridad y confianza en cada cosa que hacen y por las cuales luchan hasta conseguir lo que desean!

En este relato bíblico Dios está dándole una nueva misión a Josué, luego de concluir la labor de Moisés al frente del pueblo de Israel en  la orientación  hacia el encuentro con la tierra prometida. Moisés había cumplido con muchas dificultades su acometido, pero fue obediente a Dios durante su liderazgo. Dios está llamando ahora a Josué quien debe dar continuidad a esta obra; la tarea por supuesto es otra y para lograrlo sólo le está pidiendo: “ten valor, esfuérzate” pero además le dice: “no te desanimes” y lo más importante ¨yo tu Señor estaré contigo donde quieras que vayas¨

Somos cristianos y cristianas de hoy y tenemos responsabilidades que ese mismo Dios de Moisés y Josué  pone en nuestras manos, y en ocasiones nos invade el temor, el desánimo y la duda de si Él está o no a nuestro lado. Les invito a que busquemos en Dios y no olvidemos nunca su promesa, pues de la misma forma Él estará con nosotros donde quiera que estemos. Solo pensemos,  estemos firmes y obedientes.

Oración: Dios y Señor de la historia y de la vida, permite que donde quiera que estemos cumpliendo con el trabajo que tú nos encomiendas, no olvidemos nunca  que tú estarás con nosotros y que te podamos servir en amor y obediencia siempre. Amén.

THE QUARRY HAS CLOSED

MARK 6:1-13

Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.

John 20:29

The advertisement held little importance for me, which was not the case for those who were interested. A few days later I heard a phrase on the radio that, combined with the earlier one, set me to thinking:  Do you enjoy youthful pleasures?

The statistics indicate that the world is becoming older, as is our Homeland within the world.

This is possibly because of the growth of life expectancy due to scientific advancements.

Unfortunately the balance is sought within mass assassinations, which are produced by the drug cartels.  There is no need to decapitate thousands of people, including children and youths who are following an obscure direction of gods and even darker religions. If you don’t believe me, watch it on television and read about it in the press.

Faith, like all social movements, implicitly carries hope in the future, in those who as of now or later will profess and spread it.

And young people are called to create the conditions and make the effort so that the quarry for young blood is never closed and so that the so-called elderly can continue to enjoy youthful pleasures.  Let us pray for the perpetuity of the message of salvation.

Prayer:  Lord, help us to keep the message of the Gospel alive.

LA CANTERA ESTÁ CERRADA

MARCOS 6:1-13

Porque me has visto, Tomás, creíste,

bienaventurados los que no vieron y creyeron.

Juan 20:29

El anuncio para mí tenía poca importancia lo cual no era lo mismo para los interesados.

Unos días después escuché en la radio una frase que unida a la anterior me puso a meditar: ¿Tiene usted el gusto joven?

Las estadísticas nos indican que cada vez el mundo es más viejo y dentro del mundo nuestra Patria.

Posiblemente sea porque cada vez la esperanza de vida crece gracias a los adelantos de la ciencia.

Lamentablemente el equilibrio lo queremos buscar en los asesinatos masivos, que son producidos por los “carteles” de la droga. No falta que se decapite a miles de personas entre ellos niños y jóvenes siguiendo una obscura orientación de dioses y religiones mucho más obscuras. Si no me cree vea la televisión y lea la prensa.

La fe como todo movimiento social lleva implícita la esperanza en el futuro, en aquellos que desde ya o más tarde habrán de profesar y difundirla.

Luego la juventud está llamada a crear condiciones y esfuerzos para que la cantera no esté cerrada y para que los llamados viejos puedan seguir teniendo un gusto joven. Oremos por la perpetuidad del mensaje de salvación.

Oración: Señor, ayúdanos a mantener vivo el mensaje del Evangelio.
