BLOWING BUBBLES

Luke 6:20-26

             “But I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.”

John 16:22

How many of us have not experienced the joy produced by blowing bubbles?  From the time we were little kids, we loved to soap up our heads with bubbles and blow some of them until they would gently float away.  But it’s not just kids who enjoy the simple pleasure of something like blowing bubbles.  We adults are also thrilled by blowing bubbles and trying to catch them in our hands.

Many people pursue a pleasure which, for many, is beyond their reach, and for others, when they think they have reached it, it disappears like a soap bubble.

Jesus understood perfectly that we pursue happiness in the wrong places, and he reveals to us that true happiness is found where we least expect it.

Christ invites us to seek true happiness not in things, but rather in the only Being who will always give us all that we need in order to be happy for all eternity.

Prayer: God, help me to find you and to follow you, as you are true Happiness. Amen.

BURBUJAS DE JABÓN

Lucas 6:20-26

“Yo los volveré a ver, y su corazón se alegrará,

y nadie les arrebatará su alegría”

Juan 16:22

¿Cuántos de nosotros no han experimentado la alegría que produce el hacer burbujas de jabón? Desde niños en el baño nos encantaba llenarnos la cabeza de burbujas y soplar algunas de ellas que salían flotando suavemente. Pero no crean que solo los niños disfruten de algo tan sencillo como las burbujas de jabón. Los adultos también nos divertimos como nunca haciendo burbujas y tratando de atraparlas en nuestras manos.

Mucha gente persigue una felicidad que, para muchos, está fuera de su alcance, y, para otros, cuando creen atraparla,  desaparece como una burbuja de jabón. 

Jesús conocía perfectamente que nosotros perseguimos la felicidad en los sitios equivocados, y nos revela que la verdadera felicidad se encuentra donde menos se piensa.

Cristo nos invita a buscar la verdadera felicidad no en las cosas, sino en el único Ser que siempre nos dará todo lo que necesitamos para ser felices por toda la eternidad

Oración: Dios, ayúdame a encontrarte y seguirte a ti, que eres la Felicidad verdadera. Amén.
