A Heavy Agenda
Mark 1: 29-39
and we
grow weary from the work of our hands.
When reviled we bless 1 Corinthians 4:12
Anyone who prides
himself on being organized should have a schedule. “Permit me to consult my
schedule” is what some say when we ask for their time. Very important people
have others who “keep track of their schedules” so they don’t forget anything. “If I knew the
state of your schedule!” is the current excuse used to deny a consultation;
because the schedule is something akin to a portrait of certain people.
At times, when one
engages in the evangelical sphere, one feels as though this sense of agenda
were a reality, or as though one were
taking note of it while accompanying the story’s protagonists…Now, “as Jesus and
his disciples leave the synagogue, it was with James and John to the house of
Simon and Andrew.” There Peter’s mother-in-law has a feverous condition and she’s bedridden; and as night falls Jesus
is found expelling demons, curing the infirmed, and preaching the Kingdom. He
retires early in the morning to pray in solitude. His friends already know his
ways; they find him and remind him of his usual tasks, “Everyone is looking for
you.”
His agenda is always full,
but you can be sure that there’s a place in it for you.
Prayer: Thank you Lord,
because you always have time for me, despite never resting. Amen.

UNA AGENDA CARGADA
Marcos 1:29-39
“Trabajamos hasta el cansancio con nuestras propias manos; nos maldicen, y bendecimos”
1 Corintios 4:12
Cualquier persona que se
precie de organizada debe tener su agenda. “Déjeme consultar mi agenda”, nos
dicen algunos si les solicitamos algo de su tiempo. Las personas más
importantes tienen gente que “les lleva la agenda” para que no se les olvide
nada. ¡Si supiera cómo está su agenda!, es la excusa corriente para justificar
que alguien no nos reciba. Porque la agenda es algo así como el retrato de
ciertas personas.
A veces, cuando uno se mete
en la narración evangélica, siente como si existiera esa agenda, o como que uno
la fuera anotando a medida que acompaña a los protagonistas del relato… Ahora,
“al salir Jesús y sus discípulos de la sinagoga, fue con Santiago y Juan a casa
de Simón y Andrés”. Se encuentran con que la suegra de Pedro tiene una afección
que le produce fiebre y está acostada. Al anochecer, Jesús se nos presenta
expulsando a los demonios, curando a los enfermos, predicando el Reino. Muy de
mañana, se retira a orar en soledad. Sus amigos ya conocen cómo es, lo
encuentran y le recuerdan la tarea de todos los días: “todo el mundo te
busca."
Su
agenda siempre está cargada, pero puedes estar segura de que en ella hay un
lugar para ti.
Oración: Gracias Señor, porque
siempre tienes un tiempo para mí, a pesar de que no tienes descanso. Amén.
