THE POWER OF LOVE

Mark 5:21-43

“This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.”

1 John 5:4

A person’s faith can move even the heart of God Himself, but faith is not something that is learned, rather something that is given, which is why it must be sought every day in prayer, in order to move the heart of Jesus.

We have two examples of how the power of love can make possible what seems impossible:  Jairus’s supplication: “My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live.” (verse 23);  as well as the gesture of the woman who suffered from hemorrhaging:  “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed” (verse 28).

Christ is never surpassed in generosity.  On a scale of 1 to 10, Jesus will always be at the maximum.  We need never doubt his love.  If we give him an ounce, he will give us double, according to our needs.

Any bodily or spiritual illness—no matter how difficult—can be confronted without fear if we place it in God’s hands with faith.  There is nothing impossible to face, nor anything impossible to overcome—even death—when it is faced and conquered by the love of God.

Prayer: God of mercy, increase my faith so that I can trust that you will heal everything in me that needs to be healed. Amen.

La fe de una persona puede mover hasta el corazón del mismo Dios, pero la fe no es algo que se aprende, sino algo que se da, por eso hay que pedirla todos los días, para mover el corazón de Jesús.

La súplica de Jairo, “Mi hija está agonizando; ven y pon las manos sobre ella para que sea salva, y viva” (v.23); y el gesto de la mujer que padecía de hemorragia, “Si toco tan solo su manto, seré salva” (v.28), son dos ejemplos de cómo la fuerza del amor puede hacer que lo que parece imposible se torne posible.

Cristo jamás se deja ganar en generosidad. En una escala de 1 hasta 10, Jesús siempre estará en el máximo. No dudemos nunca de su amor. Si le damos uno él nos dará el doble, según nuestra necesidad.

Cualquier enfermedad del cuerpo o del espíritu —por dura que sea—, podemos enfrentarla sin temor si la ponemos con fe en las manos de Dios. No hay nada imposible de encarar, ni nada imposible de conquistar —ni siquiera la muerte— cuando se lo encara y conquista en el amor de Dios.

Oración: Dios de la misericordia, aumenta mi fe para confiar en que tú sanarás en mí todo lo que necesita ser sanado. Amén.
