IN HIM IS HEALTH!

MARK 1: 22-28

But Jesus rebuked him, saying,

“Be silent, and come out of him!”

From biblical illustrations in Sunday School we remember demons as things that seize us and live inside our bodies, transforming both our thoughts and our acts. Today there is a wide gamut of science fiction films which use images of demons to raise interest and increase marketing with violence. But there is a reality.

What are the demons that affect our lives as Christians? They are still those as old as humanity itself and that do as much damage as those created by humans. In this passage, Jesus drives out the demons which were tormenting the man in the synagogue of Capernaum, causing great wonder on the part of everyone there.

Today we can also be reasons for wonder with the transformations that Jesus makes in our lives. He has the power to drive out the “demons” that rob us of tranquility and spiritual peace. Only in Him, in the search to encounter him, can we achieve this.   It’s up to us to see that the demons which live within us are silenced in order to open the path to an authentic witness and faith.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, we give you our lives so that you may transform them and change us into beings of light. Transform our lives completely and fill them with meaning.  Amen.

De la escuela dominical y las ilustraciones bíblicas recordamos los demonios como algo que se apropia de nosotros y vive dentro de nuestro cuerpo, transformando pensamientos y acciones.

Hoy hay una gran gama de filmes de ciencia ficción que utilizan imágenes de demonios para aumentar el interés, la violencia y el marketing; pero hay una realidad.  ¿Cuáles son los demonios que afectan nuestra vida cristiana? Siguen siendo aquellos tan viejos como la humanidad y que hacen tanto daño como los creados por el ser humano. En el pasaje, Jesús hace que salgan fuera los demonios que atormentaban al hombre que estaba en la sinagoga de Capernaum, causando gran admiración a todos los que allí estaban.

Hoy podemos ser motivos también de admiración con las transformaciones que Jesús hace en nuestras vidas, Él tiene poder para hacer salir los “demonios” que nos quitan la tranquilidad y paz espiritual. Sólo en Él y en la búsqueda de su encuentro podemos lograrlo. Depende de nosotros que puedan ser acallados los demonios que viven en nuestro interior para abrir paso a un testimonio auténtico y fiel.

Oración: Señor Jesús, te entregamos nuestras vidas para que tú las transformes y nos conviertas en seres de luz. Transforma nuestras vidas completamente y llénalas de sentido. Amén.
