GOD’S TIME

PSALM 128

“…there is need of only one thing.  Mary has chosen the better part,

which will not be taken away from her.”

Luke 10:42 (NRSV)

We frequently overlook this great truth of the Psalm. Swept up in the whirlwind of our lives, we have multiplied our activities. Let us analyze all our time. We will see that we devote very little time to communion with God through Bible reading, prayer, or visiting other brothers and sisters. Therefore, in our day-to-day life, we struggle, we force ourselves to exhaustion and yet we fail. We forget the necessary things and we do not choose the better part. 

We spend hours in front of the television viewing the famous “package” that is truly a package.  This separates us from our children, from our spouse, and makes it difficult to have time to communicate with God.

Let’s think today about what are our priorities; let’s put God in God’s due place. Surely, we will gain a lot, this will not be taken away from us, because it will be a blessing for us and for all who surround us.

Prayer:  Lord, help us to make space for you and enable us to gather ourselves as a family to praise you and love you more. Amen.

EL TIEMPO DE DIOS

SALMO 128

Pero sólo una cosa es necesaria;

y María ha escogido la buena parte,

 la cual no le será quitada

Lucas 10:42

Esta gran verdad del salmo frecuentemente es olvidada por nosotros. Dominados por la vorágine de la vida que llevamos, hemos multiplicado nuestras actividades. Les invito a que hagamos una observación de todo nuestro tiempo. Nos percataremos pues de que dedicamos muy poco tiempo a estar en comunión con Dios a través de la lectura de la biblia, la oración, la visitación a otros hermanos y hermanas.  Por eso, en la vida cotidiana, luchamos, nos esforzamos hasta el agotamiento y a pesar de todo fracasamos. Olvidamos la cosa necesaria y no escogemos la buena parte.

Nos pasamos horas delante del televisor viendo el famoso “paquete”, que sí es un paquete. Esto nos separa de nuestros hijos, de la pareja; y nos hace difícil el poder tener un tiempo para comunicarnos con Dios.

Pensemos hoy cuáles son nuestras prioridades, pongamos a Dios en su debido lugar. Seguramente ganaremos mucho y esto no se nos podrá quitar, porque será una bendición para nosotros y también para todos los que nos rodean.

Oración: Señor, ayúdanos a tener un espacio para ti  y que podamos reunirnos en familia para alabarte y amarte más. Amén.
