THE FAMILY

DEUTERONOMY 6:6-9

Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you walk along the road,

when you lie down and when you get up.

Deuteronomy 6:7 (NIV)

Months and centuries will pass away, mountains will crumble and planets will be visited by human beings; nevertheless the home will continue to be the vital center of life. I heard once that “the family is the only heat reducer in this frozen world.”

We are sons or brothers, daughters or sisters, attached to the trunk of a family that brought us into the world. The family gave us our first impressions of life and our youth, and we left the family to conquer our future. Later we stopped being “creations” to create others, we started homes of our own, we had children or educated nephews, grandchildren, and the sweet blessing of our home gave us responsibilities.

We must cherish the home as an express mandate from God.

Prayer: God of the family, may our loved ones remain by our side or may the family always be united despite the distance. Help us to build our homes wisely, based always upon your Word. In Jesus’ name, amen.

EN FAMILIA

DEUTERONOMIO 6:6-9

… y las repetirás a tus hijos,

y hablarás de ellas estando en tu casa,

y cuando te acuestes y cuando te levantes

Deuteronomio 6:7

Los meses y los siglos pasarán, los montes dejaran de estar y los astros serán frecuentados por los seres humanos; sin embargo, el hogar perdurará como centro vital de la vida. Escuché alguna vez que “La familia es el único reducto de calor en este mundo helado”.

Somos hijos o hermanos, estamos cogidos al tronco de una familia que nos trajo al mundo. Allí vinieron las primeras impresiones de la existencia y se deslizó la juventud, de allí salimos a la conquista del porvenir. Después dejamos de ser “hechos” para hacer a otros, forjamos hogares, procreamos hijos o educamos sobrinos, nietos y la dulce bendición de nuestra casa nos carga de responsabilidades.

Tenemos que cuidar la casa por un mandato expreso de Dios.

Oración: Dios de la familia, permite que nuestros seres queridos permanezcan a nuestro lado o que la familia siempre esté unida a pesar de la distancia. Ayúdanos a edificar nuestras casas sabiamente y que el fundamento sea siempre tu Palabra. Por Jesús, amén.
