Thanksgiving Day

GRACE UPON GRACE

John 1:1-18

Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given.

John 1:16 (NIV)

In this passage, the apostle John, takes us to the heart of the Christian mystery: the incarnation of God. The eternal Word, that was with God and was God, was made flesh. He did not come as a shadow or an illusion, but rather as a real person, with a body, emotions and suffering: one-hundred percent human. This truth defies all human logic: the infinite dwelling in the finite.

Jesus dwelt among us. The Greek word used here—“σκηνόω” (skenoo) — suggests that he “camped”, as God did in the tabernacle in the desert. His presence was not distant, it was not symbolic, but intimate; his presence is close and tangible. In Christ, divine majesty is revealed in mercy, compassion, justice, and love. It is a glory that does not exclude but invites. It does not condemn but transforms.

Every day, every moment, every need, is covered by a new layer of grace. Like waves in the ocean, God’s grace never ceases to come. Let us remember that in Christ there is a fullness. He did not only come to show us God, but to fill us with God. His grace is not exhausted, is not limited; it does not withdraw. It is grace upon grace.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for making yourself flesh and dwelling among us. Thank you for showing us the glory of the Father in your life, your words and your cross. Today I receive your fullness, your abundant grace. Help me to live in your truth, to reflect your light and to rest in your love. Amen.

Día de Acción de Gracias

GRACIA SOBRE GRACIA

Juan 1:1-18

De su plenitud todos recibimos gracia sobre gracia

Juan 1.16

En este pasaje, el apóstol Juan nos lleva al corazón del misterio cristiano: la encarnación de Dios. El Verbo eterno, aquel que estaba con Dios y era Dios, se hizo carne. No vino como una sombra o una ilusión, sino como un persona real, con cuerpo, emociones y sufrimientos, cien por ciento, humano. Esta verdad confronta toda lógica humana: lo infinito habitando lo finito.

Jesús habitó entre nosotros. La palabra griega usada aquí —“σκηνόω” (skenoo)— sugiere que “acampó”, como Dios lo hizo en el tabernáculo en el desierto. Su presencia no fue distante, no fue simbólica, sino íntima, su presencia es cercana, tangible. En Cristo, la majestad divina se revela en misericordia, compasión, justicia y amor. Una gloria que no excluye, sino que invita. No condena, sino que transforma.

Cada día, cada momento, cada necesidad, es cubierta por una nueva capa de gracia. Como las olas del mar, la gracia de Dios no cesa de llegar. Recordemos que en Cristo hay plenitud. Él no solo vino a mostrarnos a Dios, sino a llenarnos de Dios. Su gracia no se agota, no se limita, no se retira. Es gracia sobre gracia.

Oración: Señor Jesús, gracias por hacerte carne y habitar entre nosotros. Gracias por mostrarnos la gloria del Padre en tu vida, tus palabras y tu cruz. Hoy recibo tu plenitud, tu gracia abundante. Ayúdame a vivir en tu verdad, a reflejar tu luz, y a descansar en tu amor. Amén.

“Whom Do You Love more?”

1 John 2:12-17

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.

1 John 2:15 (NIV)

This threefold exhortation is a way of revealing that the Christian life is a progressive journey: from initial forgiveness, through spiritual struggle, to maturing in the knowledge of God.

It does not matter in which stage you are, God reveals himself in diverse ways and speaks to you. If you are new to the faith, rest in God’s forgiveness. If you are struggling, are sad, or discouraged, remember that God is with you, right there beside you. If you have been walking this path for a long time, share your wisdom.

Take stock of your attitude. What occupies your mind? What motivates you? What robs you of peace? What do we love? Let us remember that the love of the Father and Mother of life remains forever.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your forgiveness and your truth. May my heart be full of your love and my life be guided by your will. Show me how to live your plan and to remain in you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“¿A quién amas más?”

1 Juan 2:12-17

“No améis al mundo, ni las cosas que están en el mundo. Si alguno ama al mundo, el amor del Padre no está en él.”

Esta triple exhortación es una manera de revelar que la vida cristiana es un camino progresivo: desde el perdón inicial, pasando por la lucha espiritual, hasta la madurez en el conocimiento de Dios.

No importa en qué etapa estés: Dios te habla, Dios se presenta de diversas maneras. Si eres nuevo en la fe, descansa en el perdón de Dios. Si estás en batalla, triste, desanimado, recuerda que Dios está contigo, ahí junto a ti. Si has caminado largo tiempo, comparte tu sabiduría.

Haz una revisión de tus afectos. ¿Qué ocupa tu mente? ¿Qué te motiva? ¿Qué te roba la paz? ¿Qué amamos? Recordemos que el amor del Padre y Madre de la vida, permanece para siempre.

Oración: Padre celestial, gracias por tu perdón y tu verdad. Que mi corazón esté lleno de tu amor, y mi vida guiada por tu voluntad. Enséñame a vivir tu propuesta y a permanecer en ti. En el nombre de Jesús, amén.

Here We Are Lord!

Luke 2:22-24

As it is written in the Law of the Lord, “Every firstborn male is to be consecrated to the Lord”

Jesus, though without sin, participates in the same norms that every Jewish family followed. In this act we see his full humanity: He was born under the law to redeem it and to show us the obedience that sets us free.

Simeon, a righteous old man under the anointing of the Spirit, represents the hope of Israel. Taking Jesus in his arms, he proclaims that he can “depart in peace,” because he has seen the promised Savior. His song highlights two realities: Jesus is the light that dispels the darkness of the nations and glory for the people of Israel.

Let us acknowledge and present ourselves before God: just as Jesus was consecrated, dedicate your time and energy to Him today. Let us cultivate active hope: let us learn from Simeon to wait in prayer and to recognize God’s promises when they are fulfilled.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for becoming a child, for presenting yourself in the temple, and for revealing your light to the world. I ask you for a heart like Simeon’s, which waits in the Spirit and rejoices when it sees you; a heart like Mary’s, ready to welcome the promise even in the midst of pain. May your light shine in my days and may my life be a reflection of your glory. Amen.

¡Aquí estamos Señor!

Lucas 2:22-24

Así cumplieron con lo que en la Ley del Señor está escrito: «Todo varón primogénito será consagrado al Señor»

Lucas 2.23

Jesús, aunque sin mancha, participa en las mismas normas que cada familia judía cumplía. En ese acto vemos su plena humanidad: Él nació bajo la ley para redimirla y mostrarnos la obediencia que nos libera.

Simeón, un anciano justo bajo la unción del Espíritu, representa la esperanza de Israel. Al tomar a Jesús en brazos, proclama que puede “irse en paz”, porque ha visto al Salvador prometido. Su cántico subraya dos realidades: Jesús es luz que aclara la oscuridad de las naciones y gloria para el pueblo de Israel

Reconozcamos, presentémonos ante Dios: así como Jesús fue consagrado, dedícale tu tiempo y tus fuerzas a Él hoy. Cultivemos la esperanza activa: aprendamos de Simeón a esperar en oración y a reconocer las promesas de Dios cuando se cumplen.

Oración: Señor Jesús, gracias por haberte hecho niño, por haberte presentado en el templo y por revelar tu luz al mundo. The Peace of God

Colossians 3:15-17

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

The apostle Paul speaks of a peace that is not only the absence of conflict, but a deep rest that springs from the heart of Christ and settles in our own hearts. This peace, beyond harmony among brothers and sisters, imitates the calm that Jesus left to his disciples before the cross. By allowing it to “govern” our internal decisions, we participate in his own serene submission to the will of the Father, even in the midst of trials.

When we allow the Word of God to dwell in our hearts, we make room for His wisdom to shape our attitudes and our words. It’s not just about studying the passages, but about teaching one another, praying in psalms and hymns and aligning our lives with the truth that redeems and builds up the Christian community.

Let the peace of Christ guide your decisions: before speaking or acting, listen to your inner calm.

Cultivate the word of Christ in community: organize moments of shared reading, singing, and biblical reflection.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for your peace that surpasses all understanding. I ask that your Word fills my being and transforms my words and actions. Help me to live each day in your name, recognizing your lordship and offering my gratitude at all times. Amen.

La paz de Dios

Colosenses 3.15-17

Y todo lo que hagan, de palabra o de obra, háganlo en el nombre del Señor Jesús, dando gracias a Dios el Padre por medio de él.

El apóstol Pablo habla de una paz que no es solo ausencia de conflicto, sino un reposo profundo que brota del corazón de Cristo y se asienta en el nuestro. Esta paz, más allá de la concordia entre hermanos, imita aquella calma que Jesús dejó a sus discípulos antes de la cruz. Al permitir que ella “gobierne” nuestras decisiones internas y relacionales, participamos de su propia sumisión serena a la voluntad del Padre, aun en medio de pruebas.

Cuando dejamos que la palabra de Dios more en nuestros corazones, abrimos espacio a su sabiduría para moldear nuestras actitudes y palabras. No se trata solo de estudiar pasajes, sino de enseñarnos unos a otros, de orar en salmos e himnos y de alinear nuestra vida con la verdad que redime y edifica la comunidad cristiana.

Deja que la paz de Cristo guíe tus decisiones: antes de hablar o actuar, escucha su calma interior.

Cultiva la palabra de Cristo en comunidad: organiza momentos de lectura compartida, canto y reflexión bíblica.

Oración: Señor Jesús, gracias por tu paz que supera todo entendimiento. Te pido que tu palabra llene mi ser y transforme mis palabras y actos. Ayúdame a vivir cada día en tu nombre, reconociendo tu señorío y ofreciendo mi gratitud en todo momento. Amén.

Sing to Jehovah, all the earth

Psalm 96:1-6; 11-12

Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth.

This verse is a profound invitation to praise God with joy and constant renewal. In such a changing and often chaotic world, this call to sing a “new song” continues to have a powerful and relevant significance.

Today we sing a new song,

Renewing our joy,

Lifting our voices to heaven,

Resounding loudly across the cold earth.

In every note, faith and hope,

A living echo of love and truth,

May praise never tire,

And hearts find peace.

Psalm 96:1 remains a powerful exhortation to keep hope and praise alive in our lives, encouraging us to express our faith with renewed passion and to cultivate a spirit of unity and reconciliation in a world that needs it. This call invites us to look beyond our difficulties and find a source of hope in praise. Let the whole earth sing reminds us that we are not alone on this journey, and that unity and faith can light our way to a better future.

Prayer: May our praise reach all the earth, and may we always live in unity and faith. Guide us so that, with joy, we may reflect your love in every step we take. Amen.

Este versículo es una invitación profunda a alabar a Dios con alegría y renovación constante. En un mundo tan cambiante y muchas veces caótico, este llamado a cantar un “cántico nuevo” sigue teniendo un significado poderoso y vigente.

Cantamos hoy un cántico nuevo,

renueva en nosotros la alegría,

que eleve al cielo nuestra voz,

que retumbe fuerte en la tierra fría.

En cada nota, fe y esperanza,

un eco vivo de amor y verdad,

que la alabanza nunca se canse,

y los corazones encuentren paz.

El Salmo 96:1 sigue siendo una poderosa exhortación para mantener viva la esperanza y la alabanza en nuestras vidas, animándonos a expresar nuestra fe con renovada pasión, y a cultivar un espíritu de unidad y reconciliación en un mundo que lo necesita. Este llamado nos invita a mirar más allá de las dificultades y encontrar en la alabanza una fuente de esperanza. Que toda la tierra cante, nos recuerda que no estamos solos en este viaje, y que la unidad y la fe pueden iluminar nuestro camino hacia un futuro mejor.

Friday, December 26th

    The Hopeful Gaze of Stephen

Acts 7:54-60

“Look,” he said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”

Stephen has a clear vision: he sees the heavens open and Jesus, at the right hand of God, exalted and glorified. It reminds us that even when confronted with difficulties, suffering or rejection because of our faith, Jesus is always present, interceding for us before God.

Recognizing the divinity of Jesus strengthens our faith and hope in the midst of trials. It invites us to have steadfastness and courage to maintain our trust in God. Stephen not only saw the spiritual reality behind his suffering but also showed a heart willing to forgive, praying for those who stoned him.

This passage has a powerful and relevant lesson. It encourages us to see past difficult circumstances, to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, and to trust in his power and love to sustain us. It’s a call to live with courage and forgiveness, to live an active and committed faith. Jesus is alive and present in our journey.

Prayer: Jesus, who sits at the right hand of the Father, in the midst of our anguish, may your Holy Spirit fill us with courage and peace. Help us to fully trust in your justice and infinite love, remembering that you are our eternal refuge. May we forgive and love as you do. Amen.

    La mirada esperanzadora de Esteban

Esteban tiene una visión clara: ve los cielos abiertos y a Jesús, en la diestra de Dios, exaltado y glorificado. Nos recuerda que, aunque enfrentemos dificultades, sufrimiento o rechazo por nuestra fe, Jesús está siempre presente, intercediendo por nosotros ante Dios.

Reconocer la divinidad de Jesús, fortalece nuestra fe y esperanza en medio de las pruebas, nos invita a tener firmeza y valor para mantener nuestra confianza en Dios, Esteban no solo vio la realidad espiritual detrás de su sufrimiento, sino que también mostró un corazón dispuesto a perdonar, orando por aquellos que lo apedreaban.

El pasaje tiene una enseñanza poderosa y relevante, nos anima a mirar más allá de las circunstancias difíciles, a mantener la mirada fija en Jesús, y a confiar en que su poder y amor nos sostienen. Es un llamado a vivir con valor y perdón, a vivir una fe activa y comprometida. Jesús está vivo y presente en nuestro caminar.

Christmas

The Word Was the True Light

John 1:1-18

John testified concerning him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’

John 1:15 (NIV)

This testimony reminds us that beyond human history, Jesus is the source of grace and truth, the eternal Savior who offers fullness and new life to all. His existence prior to human time is key to understanding his authority and the redemptive power he brings to the world.

In our life of faith, we can apply these truths by recognizing Jesus not only as a prophet or teacher, but also as the eternal Son of God, worthy of our trust and adoration. John 1:15 calls us to contemplate and follow the one who transcends time, being an anchor for our hope and spiritual life.

Jesus is not a distant memory, but rather a friend who walks beside us. Walking with Him means learning to live with meaning, in the truth and freedom that only His love can offer. Recognizing him as the Word, our friend and our path invites us to trust that His eternal Word is the strength that renews us and that His path is the hope that drives us forward without fear. To follow Him is to open ourselves to a life without fear; to follow Him is to open ourselves to a life where the present and eternity meet.

Prayer: Jesus, eternal Word, steadfast path, and constant truth, teach us to walk with you, for only in your word is there life. Amen.

Navidad

El Verbo era la luz verdadera

Este testimonio nos recuerda que más allá de la historia humana, Jesús es la fuente de gracia y verdad, el Salvador eterno que ofrece a todos plenitud y vida nueva. Su existencia previa al tiempo humano es una clave para entender su autoridad y el poder redentor que trae al mundo.

En la vida de fe, podemos aplicar estas verdades al reconocer a Jesús no solo como un profeta o maestro, sino como el Hijo de Dios eterno, digno de nuestra confianza y adoración. Juan 1:15 nos llama a contemplar y seguir a aquel que trasciende el tiempo, siendo ancla para la esperanza y la vida espiritual.

Jesús no es un recuerdo lejano, sino un amigo que anda a nuestro lado. Caminar con Él es aprender a vivir con sentido, en la verdad y en la libertad que solo su amor ofrece, reconocerlo como Verbo, amigo y camino nos invita a confiar: En su Palabra eterna está la fuerza que renueva, en su camino la esperanza que nos impulsa a avanzar sin miedo, seguirlo es abrirse a una vida sin miedo, seguirlo, es abrirse a una vida donde el presente y la eternidad se encuentran.

Oración: Jesús Verbo eterno, camino firme y verdad constante, enséñanos a caminar contigo, porque solo en tu palabra hay vida. Amén.

Songs of Advent

Luke 1:67-79

Because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace.

It’s almost time for the birth of the baby Jesus to bless our lives. Maria sings a song at the Annunciation, and in today’s text Zechariah sings. These are songs full of prophecy, that recall the saving deeds of God and his accompaniment of his people as the God of History. They are songs of hope. And as I reread this text I think about the content of our songs. Are they songs of lamentations and complaints about what we lack? Are they sad songs about our personal and community crises? Or are they songs marked by hope in that God that has always accompanied us and never fails us? Jesus himself is God’s song of peace, a song that announces justice for all his creation. How many people need that song today in the midst of wars, losses and pain? How many abused children long to hear that song? How many young people need to find meaning for their lives in that song? How many adults and elderly people want to find relief, rest, and companionship in that song? How much does all of creation need that song? Let us sing, even though shadows of death surround us. Let us sing that song, trusting in God’s mercy and love!

Prayer: Jesus, child of Bethlehem, as we wait for you on this night bathed in hope, we want to sing the song of peace that affirms our commitment to the Kingdom you invite us to build. Amen.

Cantos de Adviento

Lucas 1:67-79

Por la entrañable misericordia de nuestro Dios, nos visitará el sol que nace de lo alto para iluminar a los que viven en tinieblas y en sombras de muerte, para guiar nuestros pasos por el camino de la paz

Ya casi nace al niño Dios para bendecir nuestras vidas. María entona un cántico en la anunciación y en el texto de hoy canta Zacarías. Son cánticos llenos de profecía, que rememoran los hechos salvíficos de Dios y su acompañamiento a su pueblo como Dios de la Historia. Son cantos de esperanza. Y mientras releo este texto pienso en el contenido de nuestros cantos ¿son cantos llenos lamentos y quejas por lo que nos falta? ¿Son cantos tristes por nuestras crisis personales y comunitarias? ¿O son cantos marcados por la esperanza en ese Dios que siempre nos ha acompañado y nunca nos faltará? Jesús mismo es el canto de paz de Dios, es un canto que anuncia la justicia para toda su creación. ¿Cuántas personas necesitan ese canto hoy, en medio de guerras, pérdidas y dolor? ¿Cuánta niñez maltratada quiere escuchar ese canto? ¿Cuánta juventud necesita encontrar sentido para sus vidas en ese canto? ¿Cuántas personas adultas y ancianas quieren encontrar alivio, descanso y compañía con ese canto? ¿Cuánto necesita de ese canto toda la creación? Cantemos, aunque nos rodeen sombras de muerte. ¡Entonemos ese canto confiando en la misericordia y el amor de Dios!

Oración: Jesús, niño de Belén, mientras te esperamos en esta noche bañada de esperanza queremos entonar un canto de paz que afirme el compromiso con el reino que nos invitas a construir. Amén.

Tuesday, December 23

A BLESSED FAMILY

Luke 1: 57-66

Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown his great mercy to her, and they rejoiced with her

This is the story of a blessed family, a faithful family, a family that affirms its hope in the God of promise. A new life, a new birth comes to this family. The wait is over, but it has been a wait marked by respect, worship of God, even without a voice for Zechariah and with a heart full of expectation for Elizabeth. Although they are already elderly, it’s never too late for fulfillment of God's will and blessings.

Today we may feel like Zechariah, as if we don’t have a voice, or like Elizabeth, full of questions. However, like the family in this story, let us keep the faith and wait steadfastly because God's timing is perfect. If His hand is with us, who can be against us? Let us cast aside our fears, rejoice, and remain faithful. Let us spread this joy to others because it’s God who restores, dignifies us, and fulfills what He has promised.

Prayer: God, you’re coming, even though we sometimes doubt. Your faithfulness is eternal. Help us not to abandon our hopes to our fears, but to receive your signs with joy and faithfulness. Amen.

Una familia bendecida

Esta es la historia de una familia bendecida, una familia fiel, una familia que afirma la esperanza en el Dios de la promesa. Una nueva vida, un nuevo nacimiento llega a esta familia. La espera ha terminado pero ha sido una espera marcada por el respeto, la adoración a Dios, aun sin voz para Zacarías y con el corazón lleno de expectación para Isabel. Ya son mayores, pero nunca es tarde para el cumplimiento de la voluntad y las bienaventuranzas de Dios. Hoy podemos sentirnos como Zacarías, sin voz, o como Isabel llena de preguntas. Sin embargo, así como esta familia, mantengamos la fe, esperemos con firmeza porque los tiempos de Dios son perfectos. Si su mano está con nosotros, ¿quién contra nosotros? Alejemos el temor, alegrémonos y mantengámonos fieles. Contagiemos a los demás con esta alegría porque es Dios quien restaura, nos dignifica, y cumple lo que ha prometido.

Oración: Dios que estás llegando, aunque a veces dudamos, tu fidelidad es eterna. Permite que no abandonemos la espera con nuestros temores y que recibamos tus señales con alegría y fidelidad. Amén.

ADVENT HOMES

Luke 1:46-56

And Mary remained with her for about three months and then returned to her home.

Running hastily to the mountains, searching for solutions amid the complexities of family, singing songs of justice appealing to the memory of a people. This is what Mary does, and this is what so many women of our time do. Today, as in those days, in the midst of adversity many women run from tears and helplessness to sisterhood, from doubt and fear to mountains of courage and faith. From lament to a song of commitment. It’s our turn to be Advent homes, like Elizabeth's home, homes that welcome, embrace, and astonish us, because in the midst of realities that we consider difficult or critical, God surprises us, visits us, and brings salvation to our homes.

Prayer: God of goodness, we wait for you with hearts full of hope during Advent and every day. May our encounters with you shake us to our core and allow us to proclaim you with humility and passion. Amen.

Hogares-Adviento

Lucas 1:46-56

María permaneció con Isabel unos tres meses y luego regresó a su casa.

Correr presurosa hacia la montaña, a la búsqueda de soluciones en medio de la solidaridad y la complicidad de la familia, entonar cánticos de justicia apelando a la memoria de un pueblo. Eso hace María y eso hacen tantas mujeres de nuestro tiempo. Hoy también como en aquel tiempo en medio de situaciones adversas, muchas mujeres corren del llanto y la impotencia a la sororidad, de la duda y el temor a las montañas del valor y la fe. Del lamento a un canto de compromiso. Nos toca ser hogares-adviento, como el de Elizabeth, hogares que reciben, abrazan y se sorprenden porque en medio de las realidades que consideramos difíciles o críticas, Dios nos sorprende, nos visita y trae la Salvación a nuestros hogares.

Oración: Dios de bondad, te esperamos con el corazón lleno de esperanza en este Adviento y en cada día. Que el encuentro contigo nos estremezca por dentro y nos permita anunciarte con humildad y pasión. Amén.

GOD DOESN'T CALL THE QUALIFIED, HE QUALIFIES THOSE HE CALLS

Romans 1: 1-7

Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God

Romans 1:1 (NRSV)

This text reveals a truth that can transform the way we live: God calls us by grace, not by merit, and that call always has a purpose. Paul, introducing himself as a “servant of Jesus Christ,” called to be an apostle, doesn’t presume authority, but recognizes himself as someone touched by a grace that redirects him, redefines him, and sends him to fulfill something much more important.

But this message is not directed only to Paul; it includes us as well. That is, both you and I have been called, not because of our works or our abilities, but because God, in his infinite love, has decided to include us in his story of redemption.

God does not call the qualified; he qualifies those he calls.

Prayer: Eternal and merciful God, we thank you because, like your servant Paul, you’ve called us not because of our merit, but because of your immense grace. You’ve set us apart to proclaim your good news, to live as witnesses of your love in the midst of the world. Amen.

Dios no llama a los capacitados, capacita a los que llama.

Romanos 1: 1-7

Pablo, sirvo de Jesucristo, llamado a ser apóstol, apartado para el evangelio de Dios

Romanos 1:1

Este texto nos revela una verdad que puede transformar nuestra manera de vivir, Dios llama por gracia, no por mérito, y ese llamado siempre lleva un propósito. Pablo, al presentarse como "siervo de Jesucristo", llamado a ser apóstol, no presume de autoridad, sino que se reconoce como alguien alcanzado por una gracia que lo redirige, lo redefine y lo envía a cumplir con algo mucho más importante.

Pero este mensaje no es dirigido solamente a Pablo, también nos incluye. Es decir, tanto tú como yo hemos sido llamados, no por nuestras obras, ni por nuestras habilidades, sino porque Dios, en su infinito amor, ha decidido incluirnos en su historia de redención.

Dios no llama a los capacitados, capacita a los que llama.

Oración: Dios eterno y misericordioso, te damos gracias porque, como a tu siervo Pablo, nos has llamado no por mérito, sino por tu inmensa gracia. Nos has apartado para anunciar tu buena noticia, para vivir como testigos de tu amor en medio del mundo. Amén.

WHERE I DARE TO SAY “YES”

Luke 1:26-38

Then Mary said, ‘Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word.’…

Luke 1:38 (NRSV)

Nazareth was not an important place, and Mary was not a prominent public figure, yet it’s there that the story of salvation begins. God doesn’t seek out the important or powerful; God chooses the lowly to reveal the great. We’ve become accustomed to expecting striking signs and obvious answers, but God often works in the unseen.

And our job is to say Yes.

What does it mean for us today to say Yes, even if we don’t understand God's plans?

Saying, “Let it be with me according to your word” was not an act of resignation, but of complete trust. Mary teaches us that we don’t need to understand the whole plan to be part of it. The YES that’s asked of us is to accept uncertainty, to embrace vulnerability, to open ourselves to an acceptance that doesn’t yet have form. It’s not easy to say that simple word, and that’s precisely where the invitation lies.

Like Mary, we can learn to say YES even when we don't understand the plan, trusting that God always works in our favor.

Prayer: Lord, like Mary, I want to say yes. Even though I don't understand everything, I trust you to do your will in me. Amen.

Donde me atrevo a decir "Sí"

Lucas 1:26-38

Entonces María dijo: He aquí la sierva del Señor, hágase conmigo conforme a tu palabra…

Lucas 1:38

Nazaret no era un lugar importante, y María no era una figura pública de relevancia, sin embargo, allí comienza la historia de la salvación, Dios no busca a los importantes o poderosos, Dios elige a los pequeños para manifestar lo grande, ya nos acostumbramos a esperar señales llamativas, respuestas evidentes, pues yo les digo que Dios suele operar en lo invisible.

Y nuestro trabajo es decir Sí.

¿Qué significa hoy para nosotros dar ese Sí, aunque no entendamos los planes de Dios?

Decir hágase conmigo conforme a tu palabra no fue un acto de resignación, sino de confianza plena. María nos enseña que no necesitamos comprender el plan al completo para ser parte de él. Ese SÍ que se nos pide es para aceptar una incertidumbre, abrazar una vulnerabilidad, abrirnos a una aceptación que aún no tiene forma, no es fácil decir esa simple palabra y justo ahí está la invitación.

Como María podemos aprender a decir SÍ incluso cuando no entendamos el plan, confiando en que Dios obra siempre a nuestro favor.

Oración: Señor, como María, quiero decir sí. Aunque no entienda todo, confío en ti para hacer tu voluntad en mí. Amén.
