Get Away from Me

Luke 4:31-37

But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent, and come out of him!” When the demon had thrown him down before them, he came out of him without having done him any harm.

Jesus was in Capernaum, a town in Galilee, and on the Sabbath he was teaching. They all were amazed at what he said because he talked to them with authority, because he spoke words of eternal life with truth, without hypocrisy as the Pharisees did. There was a man who was upset by Christ’s presence and teaching. He was angry and shouted, even though in his own words he recognized Jesus as the Holy One of God. This man did not want the light of Christ; it is unclear why, but he rejected it. Jesus ordered the evil spirit to come out of him and he was healed. We all have those days of annoyance, anger, rage. We live under constant pressure due to all the shortcomings and illnesses that surround us, and this results in a hardened heart, even toward God’s message.

How can we free ourselves from these evil sentiments? Deliver us, Lord, from the temptation to reject you, from not accepting your teachings, deliver us from blaspheming against your Holy name, deliver us from wanting to turn away from you. May all hatred, envy, curse leave our spirit, and may we be filled with the virtues of your reign which are love, hope, benediction, peace and compassion.

Prayer: God, drive our from our souls all that produces none of the fruits you desire; we want to follow your example of love and justice. Amen.

Sal de mí

Lucas 4:31-37

¡Cállate!- lo reprendió Jesús- ¡Sal de ese hombre! Entonces el demonio derribó al hombre en medio de la gente y salió de él sin hacerle ningún daño.

Jesús estaba en Capernaúm, un pueblo de Galilea, y el sábado estaba enseñando. Todos estaban asombrados de lo que decía, porque les hablaba con autoridad, porque les decía palabras de vida eterna, con verdad, sin hipocresía como lo hacían los fariseos. Había un hombre que estaba molesto con la presencia y enseñanza de Cristo, estaba airado y gritaba, aunque en sus mismas palabras reconoce a Jesús como el Santo de Dios. Este hombre no quería la luz de Cristo, no se explica porque, pero la rechazaba. Entonces, Jesús ordenó que saliera de él ese espíritu negativo y salió. Todos tenemos esos días de molestia, ira, enojo, vivimos en una presión constante por todas las carencias, enfermedades que tenemos a nuestro alrededor, esto trae como consecuencia un corazón duro incluso para con el mensaje de Dios.

¿Cómo podemos librarnos de los malos sentimientos? Líbranos Señor de la tentación de rechazarte, de no aceptar tus enseñanzas, líbranos de blasfemar contra tu Santo nombre, líbranos de querer alejarnos de tu figura. Que salga de nuestro espíritu todo odio, envidia, maldición y se llene de las virtudes de tu reino que es el amor, la esperanza, la bendición, la paz, y la compresión.

Oración: Expulsa oh Dios poderoso de nuestro interior todo lo que no produzca los frutos que Tú deseas, queremos seguir tu ejemplo de amor y justicia. Amén
