“THE FAITH THAT SPRINGS FROM JOY”

Luke 1:39-47

Blessed are you among women; and blessed is the fruit of your womb!

Luke 1:42 (NIV)

This passage shows us Mary in motion, carrying the Savior of the world in her womb. She doesn’t wait, she doesn’t hesitate, she doesn’t withdraw: “she got up and went with haste.” Her faith impels her to act, to share, to serve. During her visit to Elizabeth, something extraordinary happens: John, not yet born, leaps for joy. It is the first testimony that Jesus, even in the womb, is already a source of life and joy.

Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, recognizes Mary’s greatness not because of her merits, but because of her faith. Mary’s faith is not passive, but active, trusting, obedient. And that faith generates joy, recognition, and adoration.

Mary responds with one of the most beautiful hymns in Scripture: the Magnificat. She does not glorify herself, but God. Her soul sings, her spirit trembles. She recognizes that God has looked upon her lowliness and done great things.

Prayer: Lord, grant me a faith like Mary’s: a faith that rises, that runs, that sings. May my life be a testament to your presence, and may my soul glorify your name. May I, like Elizabeth, recognize your work in others, and like John, leap for joy before you. Amen.

“La fe que salta de gozo”

Lucas 1:39-47

‘¡Bendita tú entre las mujeres, y bendito el fruto de tu vientre!’—

Lucas 1:42

Este pasaje nos muestra a María en movimiento, llevando en su vientre al Salvador del mundo. No espera, no duda, no se encierra: “se levantó y fue de prisa”. Su fe la impulsa a actuar, a compartir, a servir. En su visita a Elisabet, ocurre algo extraordinario: Juan, aún no nacido, salta de gozo. Es el primer testimonio de que Jesús, incluso en el vientre, es ya fuente de vida y alegría.

Elisabet, llena del Espíritu Santo, reconoce la grandeza de María no por sus méritos, sino por su fe. La fe de María no es pasiva, sino activa, confiada, obediente. Y esa fe genera gozo, reconocimiento, y adoración.

María responde con uno de los himnos más bellos de la Escritura: el Magnificat No se glorifica a sí misma, sino a Dios. Su alma canta, su espíritu se estremece. Ella reconoce que Dios ha mirado su humildad y ha hecho grandes cosas.

Oración: Señor, dame una fe como la de María: que se levanta, que corre, que canta. Que mi vida sea testimonio de tu presencia, y que mi alma glorifique tu nombre. Que como Elisabet, yo reconozca tu obra en los demás, y como Juan, salte de gozo ante ti. Amén.
