A Compassionate Heart

Matthew 15:32-39

 

Then Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion for the crowd, because they have been with me now for three days and have nothing to eat; and I do not want to send them away hungry, for they might faint on the way.”

Jesus arrived at the shores of the Sea of Galilee, climbed a mountain, and a large crowd of people suffering from illnesses were healed by Him.  Jesus realized that they had been with him for three days and had nothing to eat. He was concerned that they might faint along the way, and that is when he fed thousands of people. Compassion is a feeling of tenderness that makes you empathize with someone else’s suffering. Today creation screams for compassion; today living beings cry out for compassion. Jesus’ ministry is described as being all love, just, and compassionate. He identified with and acted on behalf of those who suffered, which is why we have that urgent mission today. 

A compassionate heart is one that, instead of pointing fingers and judging, helps others and puts its gifts at the service of all, feels motivated to give selflessly to love and care.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for your compassion toward our anguish. There are many calamities, but you come to meet us and save us. By your Holy Spirit, seal compassion in our hearts. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Día de las Personas con Discapacidades

Un corazón compasivo

Mateo 15:32-39

Jesús llamó a sus discípulos y les dijo:- Siento compasión de esta gente porque ya llevan tres días conmigo y no tienen nada que comer. No quiero despedirlos sin comer, no sea que se desmayen por el camino.

Jesús llegó a orillas del mar de Galilea, subió a una montaña y una gran multitud de personas que padecían enfermedades fueron sanadas por Él. Jesús se percató que llevaban tres días con él y no tenían nada que comer, se preocupó por si se desmayaban por el camino y es cuando alimenta a miles de personas. La compasión es un sentimiento de ternura, el cual te hace identificarte ante los males de alguien. Hoy la creación grita por compasión, hoy los seres vivientes exclaman por compasión. El ministerio de Jesús se describe por ser todo amor, justo y compasivo. Se identificaba y actuaba en favor de los que sufrían, por eso hoy tenemos esa urgente misión. 

Un corazón compasivo es aquel que en vez de señalar y juzgar; ayuda y pone sus dones al servicio de todos, un corazón compasivo se siente motivado a la entrega desinteresada por amor y cuidado.

Oración: Señor gracias por tu compasión hacia nuestras angustias, son muchas las calamidades, pero tú vienes a nuestro encuentro y nos salvas. Por tu Espíritu Santo sella en nuestros corazones la compasión. En el nombre de Jesucristo. Amén.
