THE CALL OF GOD
GALATIANS 1:11-19
I did not receive it
from any man,
nor was I taught it;
rather,
I received it by
revelation from Jesus Christ..
Galatians 1:12
Paul’s experience on the road to Damascus,
although it attracted more detractors than devotees to him, was nevertheless
not something he declined to share during his ministry. First off, Paul
realized that God in Christ had called him to be an Apostle, and to give
testimony, beside the fact that the message he was preaching hadn’t been
received at anyone’s request, not even from the other Apostles.
The Apostle Paul is
fully convinced of it. He recognizes that the authority of his call isn’t
linked to the other twelve. He does not
feel superior to them, but neither does he in any way feel inferior, because he
received the authority directly from Jesus Christ.
Many people think
that the call only happens to the pastoral priesthood, as if other church ministries
were lesser, not coming equally from God. Thus, as Jesus called men, women, children,
youths, tax collectors, fishermen, and a great quantity of people to form part
of his ministry, today God is calling through multiple ways and for very
important ministries. He awaits your decision. The harvest is great, the
workers few. Answer His call today with faith and commitment.
Prayer: Lord, I want to
accept your call; use me, guide me. Forgive me if other voices distract me,
keeping me from attending to your call. Forgive my doubts and my fears. Give me
the strength to remain at your side, serving you and collaborating with your
kingdom. Amen.

GÁLATAS
1:11-19
Pues
yo ni lo recibí ni lo aprendí de hombre alguno,
sino
por revelación de Jesucristo.
Gálatas
1:12
La
experiencia de Pablo en el camino de Damasco aunque le trajo más detractores
que adeptos, no por ello es algo que él deja de compartir durante su
ministerio. Pablo reconoce primeramente de que Dios en Cristo le había llamado
para ser apóstol y da testimonio además de que el mensaje que predicaba no lo
había recibido a instancias de nadie, ni siquiera de los otros apóstoles.
El
apóstol Pablo está plenamente convencido de ello. Él reconoce que la autoridad
de su apostolado no está ligada al resto de los doce, por tanto si bien no es
superior a ellos, tampoco siente que sea para nada inferior, porque la
autoridad la recibió directamente de Jesucristo.
Muchas
personas piensan que el llamado ocurre solo a los candidatos al presbiterado
pastoral, como si otros ministerios que hay en la iglesia fueran menores y no
vinieran igualmente de Dios.
Así
como Jesús llamó a hombres, mujeres, niños, jóvenes, cobradores de impuestos,
pescadores y a gran cantidad de personas para formar parte de su ministerio,
Dios hoy te está llamando de múltiples maneras y para ministerios muy
importantes. Él espera que te decidas. La mies es mucha y los obreros pocos.
Responde
hoy a su llamado con fe y compromiso.
Oración:
Señor quiero aceptar tu llamado, úsame y guíame. Perdóname si otras voces
me distraen y me impiden atender a tu llamado. Perdona mis dudas y mis miedos.
Dame la fuerza para quedarme a tu lado sirviéndote y colaborando con tu reino. Amén
