WHAT DO YOU HAVE, JESUS?

HEBREWS 5:7-9

After he had been made perfect, he became the source of

salvation for everyone who obeys him.

Hebrews 5:9 (CEB)

What do you have, Jesus of Nazareth?  This question, asked of Christ, also can be asked by people today, with the same anxiety of centuries ago…Yes, today we too ask Jesus:  What do you have, Jesus of Nazareth, that you have changed the course of history?  What do you have, Jesus of Nazareth, that attracts hearts, that drags even those whose hearts seem hard and difficult to follow your word?  What do you have, Jesus of Nazareth?

You have the strength that we need to live—the one who wants to serve me follows me. You have promises of eternal life:  where I am there also will be my servant, but you also have this dialectical antithesis that confounds the wisest of this world and praises the humble:  If the grain of wheat does not fall in the earth and die, it remains infertile; but if it dies, it produces much fruit.

You have lessons of life eternal for all who obey you.

You have, Jesus of Nazareth, the sure path of salvation.

You have, Jesus of Nazareth, the answer for humankind.

Prayer:  Jesus, we want to ask you this day to accompany and guide those persons who want to know you and desire it with all their heart.  Amen.

¿QUÉ TIENES TÚ, JESÚS?

HEBREOS  5:7-9

...y habiendo sido perfeccionado, vino a ser autor 

de eterna salvación para todos los que le obedecen.

Hebreos 5:9

¿Qué tienes tú, Jesús de Nazaret? Esta pregunta que se le ha hecho a Cristo, también se la hace el ser humano de hoy, con la misma angustiosa interrogante de hace siglos… Sí, hoy también le preguntamos a Jesús. ¿Qué tienes tú, Jesús de Nazaret, que has cambiando el curso de la historia? ¿Qué tienes tú, Jesús de Nazaret, que atraes los corazones, que arrastras aun a aquellos que parecían duros y difíciles para seguir tu palabra? ¿Qué tienes tú, Jesús de Nazaret…?

Tienes la fuerza que necesitamos para vivir el que quiera servirme, que me siga. Tienes promesas de vida eterna donde esté yo, allí también estará mi servidor, pero tienes también esa antítesis dialéctica que confunde a los sabios de este mundo y ensalza a los humildes: Si el grano de trigo no cae en tierra y muere, queda infecundo; pero si muere, da muchos frutos.

Tú tienes lecciones de vida eterna para todos los que obedecen.

Tú tienes, Jesús de Nazaret, el camino seguro de salvación.

Tú tienes, Jesús de Nazaret, la respuesta para el ser humano.

Oración: Jesús, queremos pedirte en este día que acompañes y guíes a aquellas personas que quieren conocerte y lo desean de corazón. Amén.
