RECEIVERS OF GOD’S LOVE

PSALM  8

What are human beings that you think about them?

Psalm 8:4a (CEB)

Sometimes we think like the psalmist, considering ourselves unworthy of God’ love.  We reduce the value of human beings, ending up damaging our self-esteem and possibilities for redemption.  We are a creation of God, made in his image and likeness.  We remember that God saw that each thing that was created, fruit of his breath of life, was something very good.  Therefore, to love our life and that of our brothers and sisters is to love God and give glory to Him.  God is in us the source of this river that flows into eternal life.

Why is it so hard for us to be receivers of this divine love?  Why are we afraid of the love of God, when what we really should be afraid of is the lack of love and the lack of care toward ourselves?  Enjoy the good news of God’s love for you and those like you. Accept within you this treasure and share it with all of creation. 

Prayer:  Creator God, give us grace this day because your love sustains us.  Allow us to be receivers of this love and may we respond to your infinite grace with an unbreakable faith that enables us to do good and to share your love around us. Amen.

RECEPTORES DE SU AMOR

SALMO  8

Digo: ¿Qué es el hombre, para que tengas de  él memoria?

Salmo 8:4a

En ocasiones nos pasa como al salmista, nos consideramos indignos del amor de Dios. Empequeñecemos tanto el valor humano que terminamos dañando nuestra autoestima y posibilidades de redención. Somos creación de Dios, hechos a su imagen y semejanza. Recordemos que Dios vio que cada cosa creada, fruto de su soplo de vida, era algo realmente bueno. Por tanto, amar nuestra vida y la de nuestros hermanos y nuestras hermanas, es amar a Dios y darle gloria a Él. Él es en nosotros la fuente de ese río, que salta para vida eterna.

¿Por qué nos cuesta ser receptores de ese amor divino? ¿Por qué tememos al amor de Dios, cuando lo que deberíamos temer realmente es al desamor y la falta de cuidado hacia nosotros?

Disfruta la buena noticia del amor de Dios hacia ti y hacia tus semejantes, acoge en tu interior este tesoro y compártelo con toda la creación.

Oración: Dios creador, te damos las gracias en este día porque tu amor nos sostiene. Permite que seamos receptores de ese amor y que respondamos a tu gracia infinita con una fe inquebrantable que nos lleve a hacer el bien y compartir tu amor a nuestro alrededor. Amén.
