PERSEVERING IN THAT WHICH SUPPORTS US

 2 TIMOTHY 2:1-10

Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect,

that they too may obtain the salvation

that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

2 Timothy 2:10 (NIV)

Every Christian sometimes feels the temptation to give it all up. Although they are serving God and trying to walk with him, they constantly experience deceptions, frustrations, or failures. The pressures increase. An inner voice says: “Why don’t you give it up?” But that is not the answer, because the believer has been called to be faithful to the end.

Church attendance, Bible reading, prayer, knowledge of doctrine, service to others, and dependence on the Holy Spirit must be regular features of our eternal path as disciples. Then, when pressures come, you will have sufficient resources to resist them with faith and trust in God.

Let us remember Paul’s words to the Corinthians: … be firm and constant, growing always in the work of the Lord.

Prayer: Thank you, beloved God, for your companionship. May we always be prepared so we do not falter. In Jesus’ name, amen.

PERSEVERANDO EN AQUELLO QUE NOS SOSTIENE

 2 TIMOTEO 2:1-10

Por  tanto, todo lo soporto por amor de los escogidos,

para que ellos también obtengan la salvación

que es en Cristo Jesús con gloria eterna.

Cada cristiano se encuentra en ocasiones en que siente la tentación de dejarlo todo. Aunque está sirviendo a Dios y tratando de caminar con Él, se encuentra casi a cada momento con desengaños, frustraciones o fracasos. Las presiones aumentan. Una voz interna dice: ¿Por qué no lo dejas? Pero ésta no es la respuesta, porque el creyente ha sido llamado a ser fiel hasta el fin.

La asistencia a la Iglesia, la lectura de la Biblia, la oración, el conocimiento de la doctrina, el servicio solidario y la dependencia del Espíritu Santo tienen que constituir una parte regular en nuestro eterno camino de discipulado. Después, cuando uno afronte las presiones, tendrá los suficientes recursos para resistir el apremio con fe y confianza en Dios.

Recordemos las palabras del apóstol Pablo a los Corintios cuando dijo: … estad firmes y constantes, creciendo en la obra del Señor siempre.

Oración: Gracias Dios amado, por tu compañía. Permítenos estar siempre preparados para no fallar. En el nombre de Jesús, amén.
