Monday, May 11; A PLACE TO SERVE

MAY 11, Monday
A PLACE TO SERVE
2 Chronicles 31: 20-21

Hezekiah did this throughout all Judah; he did what was good and right and faithful before the Lord his God. And every work that he undertook in the service of the house of God, and in accordance with the law and the commandments, to seek his God, he did with all his heart; and he prospered. (NRSV)

2 Chronicles 31:21

Hezekiah viewed the house of worship as a place to serve, not as a place to be served. He used his talents and abilities to help others, and God blessed him for it.

God gives Hezekiah's example to inspire you. Don't just go to church with the idea of   receiving, but also with the idea of   sharing your skills with others.

We are likely to wonder what we can offer others if we cannot deal with our own problems.

Perhaps we meet people in church with problems similar to our own. We could talk to them about something that we are discovering in our relationship with God. The Church is not only a space to find peace, but also an opportunity to share peace.

Attending church is never a one-way road. We are told in Hebrews 10 that we are to exhort, comfort, and encourage one another.

Prayer: Thank you Father for giving me a place to worship and have fellowship with my brothers and sisters. Guide me to use my gifts in your church. Amen.
