GOD IS ONE

Exodus 4:3-4

“We both have access to the Father through Christ by the one Spirit.”

Ephesians 2:18(CEB)

              My mother knew the Lord as a girl in a Baptist Church of a small rural village where she lived in Colon, Matanzas province.

Today she is a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Guanabacoa, where she feels very loved and well used for the ministry of prayer and visiting the sick in the community. 

              My oldest daughter knew the Lord in a Pentecostal Church and I, who write this, am a member of the First Baptist Church of Guanabacoa, a place where I have worshipped for more than 10 years.  I write this reflection for Su Voz as a gift to my mother.  

              Because I feel, despite all of these well-traveled paths to come to the Lord, my family and I, we feel we are members of only one Church, the Church of Christ, where He will come to look for his followers to give us the gift of his Salvation because as it says in today’s text, as Christians we have the same Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  

              It is because of this that it hurts me deeply when I see the divisions that exist between the different denominations, since far from looking at our differences marked in the Reformation, I think that we should be focused on our Great and All-Powerful God who calls us day after day to Unity and Service.  

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for your children who recognize that we are all brothers and sisters and children of the same Father.  Lord, work in those who do not think that way.  Through Christ, our Lord, Amen.

DIOS UNO ES

“Porque por medio de Él los unos y los otros tenemos entrada por un mismo Espíritu al Padre”

Efesios 2:18

              Mi madre conoció al Señor de niña en una Iglesia Bautista del pueblito rural donde vivía en Colón, provincia de Matanzas.

              Hoy día es miembro de la Iglesia Presbiteriana-Reformada en Guanabacoa, donde se siente muy amada y es utilizada para el Ministerio de la Oración y la visitación a enfermos de la comunidad.

              Mi hija mayor, conoció al Señor en la Iglesia Pentecostal y yo, quien escribe, soy miembro de la 1ra Iglesia Bautista de Guanabacoa, lugar en el que me congrego por más de 10 años. Hago esta reflexión para la Revista como regalo a mi madre.

              Porque siento, que a pesar de todos estos caminos trillados para llegar al Señor, mi familia y yo,  nos sentimos miembros de una sola Iglesia, la Iglesia de Cristo, donde Él vendrá a buscar a sus seguidores para darnos el regalo de su Salvación porque como dice el texto citado, como cristianos tenemos un mismo Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo.

              Es por eso que me duele profundamente cuando veo las divisiones  que existen entre las distintas denominaciones, ya que lejos de mirar nuestras diferencias, marcadas en la Reforma, pienso que debemos estar enfocados en el Dios, Grande y Todopoderoso que nos llama día tras día a la Unidad y al Servicio.

Oración: Gracias Señor por tus hijos que reconocemos que todos somos hermanos e hijos de un mismo Padre. Obra Señor, en aquellos que no piensan igual. Por Cristo, nuestro Señor. Amén.
