I GO TO THE GARDEN ALONE

MarK 1:35-39

In the morning, while it was still very dark, he got up and went out to a deserted place, and there he prayed.

The tradition of observing daily devotions exists in my community. It is a time of a few minutes that we dedicate to prayer and meditation before beginning our daily work. Also some songs encourage us to begin the day. However, I recognize that sometimes we influnece this community time by alluding that we have already done our personal devotional or that there is not much time for everything we must do in the day. Fortunately, we have made a necessity of our encounter with God,  and then we pick up the pace.

No matter how hectic our life may be, nothing can violate this moment of encounter with the Lord if we live it in community, so much the better. Either when we get up or before going to rest, meet with our family, with a neighbor, with some of our brothers or sisters in the church, we live that minute of prayer and meditation with the God of life.

Before beginning to preach, Jesus went out early in the morning to meet with God in prayer. Don’t leave it only for Sunday; every day reserve, even though it be only small, time to feed your faith. Without a doubt, the result will be a fruitful day blessed by God!

 

Prayer: Our God, let us be aware of the need for meeting with you in sincere communion, before undertaking any activity in the day. Amen.

A SOLAS AL HUERTO YO VOY

Marcos 1:35-39

Muy de madrugada, cuando todavía estaba oscuro, Jesús se levantó, salió de la casa y se fue a un lugar solitario, donde se puso a orar.

En nuestra comunidad existe la tradición de celebrar devocionales diarios. Es un tiempo de escasos minutos que dedicamos a la oración y la meditación antes de comenzar nuestras labores cotidianas. También algún que otro canto nos anima a comenzar el día. Sin embargo, reconozco que en ocasiones afectamos este tiempo comunitario aludiendo que ya hicimos nuestro devocional personal o que no hay mucho tiempo para todo lo que debemos hacer en el día. Afortunadamente hemos hecho de nuestro encuentro con Dios una necesidad, y luego retomamos el ritmo.

Por muy agitada que sea nuestra vida, nunca debemos violar ese minuto de encuentro con el Señor y si lo vivimos en comunidad mucho mejor. Ya sea al levantarnos a antes de ir al descanso, reúnase con su familia, con algún vecino, con alguno de sus hermanos o hermanas de la iglesia, para vivir ese minuto de oración y meditación junto al Dios de la vida.

Jesús salió muy de madrugada a encontrarse con Dios en oración, antes de comenzar a predicar. No lo deje sólo para el domingo, cada día reserve aunque sea un pequeño tiempo para alimentar su fe. ¡Sin dudas, el resultado será un día fructífero y bendecido por Dios!

 

Oración: Dios nuestro, permite que seamos conscientes de la necesidad de encontrarnos contigo en comunión sincera, antes de acometer cualquier acción en el día. Amén.
