THERE IS SO MUCH TO BE THANKFUL FOR!

Colossians 2:6-7

give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

I Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV)

I invite you to reflect on this moving story.

A rich man looked out his window and saw a poor man taking something out of the garbage and thought, “Thank God I am not poor.” The poor man looked up and saw a madman in rags wandering down the street, and thought, “Thank God I’m not mad.” The madman looked ahead and saw an ambulance passing by and said to himself, “Thank God I am not sick.” Meanwhile the sick man in the hospital saw a stretcher pass by with a body under a sheet and said, “Thank God I am alive.”

Why not thank God today for all the blessings, for the gift of life and for this beautiful day. Let us remember the psalmist when he exclaimed: “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits”.

To better understand what life is, you have to visit three places: a hospital, a prison and a cemetery. In the hospital you will see that there is nothing more beautiful than health. In the prison you will see that there is nothing more precious than freedom. And in the cemetery you will understand how ephemeral and banal life is. The ground you walk on today will be your roof tomorrow. We must then be humble before God and thank him every day for all that we are and have.

What are you thankful to God for today?

 

Prayer: Today my prayer will be only of thanksgiving, Lord. Today I don’t want to ask for anything. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I always have more to be thankful for. Amen.

¡HAY TANTO PARA AGRADECER!

Colosenses 2:6-7

Den gracias a Dios en todo, porque esta es su voluntad para ustedes en Cristo Jesús

1 Tesalonicenses 5:18

Les invito a reflexionar en esta historia tan conmovedora.

Un rico miró por su ventana, y vio a un hombre pobre sacando algo de la basura y pensó: “Gracias a Dios no soy pobre”. El hombre pobre levantó la vista y vio un loco en harapos deambulando por la calle, y pensó. “Gracias a Dios no estoy loco”. El loco miró hacia adelante y vio pasar una ambulancia y se dijo a sí mismo: “Gracias a Dios no estoy enfermo”. Mientras tanto el enfermo en el hospital vio pasar una camilla con un cuerpo debajo de una sábana y dijo: “Gracias a Dios que estoy con vida”.

¿Por qué no agradecerle hoy a Dios por todas las bendiciones? Por el regalo de la vida y por este día tan lindo. Recordemos al salmista cuando exclamaba: “bendice alma mía al Señor, y no olvides ninguno de sus beneficios”.

Para entender mejor qué es la vida tienes que visitar tres lugares: un hospital, una prisión y un cementerio. En el hospital verás que no hay nada más lindo que la salud. En la prisión verás que no hay nada más precioso que la libertad. Y en el cementerio entenderás lo efímero y banal de la vida. La tierra que pisas hoy será tu techo mañana. Debemos entonces ser humildes ante Dios y agradecerle cada día por todo lo que somos y tenemos.

Oración: Hoy mi oración será solamente de agradecimiento Señor. Hoy no quiero pedir nada. Gracias, gracias, gracias. Siempre tengo más motivos para agradecer. Amén.
