HOW SHOULD WE PRAY?

1 John 5:14-15

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.

1 John 5:14 (NIV)

Surely you have asked yourself more than once if you pray the right way or not, if your prayers are heard by God and if you will receive an answer or not. First, you should know that when you pray there is someone that truly hears your prayers. This is the first good news. Our Lord hears each prayer. Everything that we have asked for, He has heard it. The Bible assures us that even before your knees touch the ground, God already knows your needs. He knows everything that you have done, the decisions made, if you have made mistakes, if you have fallen because you did not let Him guide you. There is no place that you and I can run away to in God’s presence. He is everywhere in every moment.

So then, how should we pray? Some prayers last five minutes, others for hours. Time is not the most important thing. What is essential is that when you pray you are sincere, with humble faith, with a prayer that is willing to accept the will of the Father, a repentant prayer that recognizes that you have made a mistake, a prayer open to hear the voice of God.

Every day God expects us to pray, to stop trusting in our own strengths, and to put everything in His hands. Let us ask God to help us have enough humility, repentance, sincerity, and faith in our prayers in order to be closer to Him.

 

Prayer: Lord, bless us. Guide my steps. Help me to go forward and keep me strong so that I do not let go of your powerful hand, knowing that prayer has great power and without forgetting that you always hear me, always. Amen.

¿COMO DEBEMOS ORAR?

1 Juan 5:14-15

Y esta es la confianza que tenemos en Dios, que si pedimos alguna cosa conforme a su voluntad, él nos oye.

1 Juan 5:14

Seguro te has preguntado más de una vez si oras de la manera correcta o no, si tus oraciones son escuchadas por Dios, y si recibirás una respuesta o no.  Primero, debes saber que cuando oras hay alguien que de verdad escucha tus oraciones. Esa es la primera buena noticia. Nuestro Señor escucha cada oración. Todo lo que le hemos pedido, Él lo ha escuchado. La Biblia incluso asegura que antes de que tus rodillas tocaran el suelo, Dios ya sabía tus necesidades. Él sabe todo lo que has hecho, las decisiones tomadas, si te has equivocado, si has caído a causa de no dejarte guiar por Él. No hay lugar donde tú y yo podamos huir de la presencia de Dios. Él está en todos lados y en todo momento.

Entonces, ¿cómo debemos orar? Algunas oraciones duran cinco minutos, otras horas. El tiempo no es lo más importante. Lo esencial es que cuando ores seas sincero, con fe humilde, aquella que está dispuesta a aceptar la voluntad del Padre, una oración arrepentida que reconozca que te has equivocado, una oración abierta para escuchar la voz de Dios.

Todos los días Dios espera que oremos, y que dejemos de confiar en nuestras fuerzas y lo pongamos todo en sus manos. Pidámosle a Dios que nos ayude a tener la suficiente humildad, arrepentimiento, sinceridad y fe en nuestras oraciones para estar más acerca de Él.

 

Oración: Señor, bendícenos. Guía mis pasos. Ayúdame a salir adelante y mantenme fortalecida para no soltarme de tu mano poderosa, sabiendo que la oración tiene un gran poder y sin olvidar que tú siempre me escuchas, siempre. Amén.
