GLORY AND HONOR

1 CHRONICLES 28:8-10

Consider now, for the Lord has chosen you

to build a house as the sanctuary. Be strong and do the work.  (NIV)

1 Chronicles 28:10

In this chapter King David was preparing to transfer power to his son Solomon. He instructed Solomon in the art of leadership and in the special challenges which accompany the task of governing the people.

From a biblical perspective, the objective of life isn’t to succeed in our own objectives. God has given us life so that we can acknowledge him and glorify his name.

Nevertheless, in the habitual vicissitudes of life, we spend more energy on maintaining our jobs, completing household chores, and raising our children than in glorifying the name of God. These same things, if we do them with the correct spirit, honor God.

It doesn’t matter how routine a task may seem, it can be an act of worship if you undertake it in this manner. By serving your family, you are serving God.

Prayer: I praise you, Lord, for your perfection, holiness and grace. I thank you for the blessings you have given to my family.  Help me to maintain a spirit of worship in everything I do. Amen.

Mira, pues, ahora que Jehová te ha elegido para que

edifiques casa para el santuario; esfuérzate y hazla

1 Crónicas 28:10

En este capítulo, el rey David se estaba preparando para transferir el poder a su hijo Salomón. El instruyó a Salomón en el arte del liderazgo y en los retos especiales que acompañan a la tarea de gobernar al pueblo.

Desde una perspectiva bíblica el propósito de la vida no es lograr nuestros propios objetivos. Dios nos ha dado vida para que podamos reconocerle y glorificar su nombre.

Sin embargo, en las vicisitudes habituales de la vida, gastamos más energía en mantener nuestro empleo, terminar los quehaceres del hogar y criar a nuestros hijos que en glorificar el nombre de Dios. Estas mismas cosas, si las hacemos con el espíritu correcto, honran a Dios.

No importa cuán rutinaria puede parecer una tarea, puede ser un acto de adoración si la tomas de esa manera. Al servir a tu familia, estás sirviendo a Dios.

Oración: Te alabo Señor, por tu perfección, santidad y gracia. Te agradezco por las bendiciones que has dado a mi familia, y ayúdame a mantener un espíritu de adoración en todo lo que haga. Amén.
