HOW DOES GOD WANT ME TO WORSHIP HIM?

MICAH 6: 6-16

With what shall I come before the Lord,

and bow down before the exalted God?   (NIV)

Micah 6:6

Micah draws emphasis to the true worship of God. In the text that contains the meditation for today, the prophet states that if worship is not accompanied with the disposition and quality of life, if it doesn’t change the life of the individual, then it’s not pleasing to God. Some think that the service in the sanctuary in which they participate every Sunday or Saturday night is the only way to worship God.

There’s a very important question: With what will I present myself before the Lord in worship to the Most High? What is it that God wants of me?

Worship is a total surrender of the human being to his God. Worship is not a simple rite that’s fulfilled at certain times to obtain the Father’s favor. On the contrary, it’s the search for divine will, it’s putting our lives in his service.

Let us meditate upon these questions: Do I try to submit to the will of God so that he satisfies my desires; or, Do I try to discover his will and to fulfill it?

Prayer:  Lord thank you for the opportunity to worship you. Help us to know your will and to dedicate our efforts to fulfilling it, in the name of your beloved Son. Amen.

¿Con qué me presentaré ante Jehová

y adoraré al Dios Altísimo?

Miqueas hace énfasis en el verdadero culto a Dios. En el texto que nos reserva la meditación de hoy, el profeta asegura que, si el culto no va acompañado de una disposición y calidad de vida, si no cambia la vida del individuo, no agrada a Dios. Algunos piensan que el único culto a Dios es el servicio del que participan cada domingo o sábado en la noche en el templo.

Hay una pregunta muy importante ¿con qué me presentaré ante el Señor y adoraré al Altísimo?, es decir, ¿qué es lo que Dios desea de mí?

La adoración es una entrega total del ser humano a su Dios. El culto no es un simple rito que se cumple cada cierto tiempo para obtener el favor del Padre. Por el contrario, es la búsqueda de la voluntad divina, es poner nuestra vida a su servicio.

Meditemos en estas interrogantes: ¿Trato de someter la voluntad de Dios para que satisfaga mis deseos, o trato de descubrir su voluntad para cumplirla?

Oración: Señor, gracias por la oportunidad de adorarte. Ayúdanos a conocer tu voluntad y dedicar nuestros esfuerzos en cumplirla, en el nombre de tu Hijo amado. Amén.
