THE
VOICE OF JESUS IN THE STORM
JOHN
6: 16-21

But he said to them, “it is I; do not be afraid.” (NIV)

6:20
It
was night and the disciples were crossing the sea of Galilee in a boat shaken
by a strong wind. After having rowed for a stretch they saw Jesus who was
walking upon the water and was going toward them. Jesus is on top of
everything. His divine power dominates over the laws and the phenomena of
nature!
How
strange! When his followers saw him, they were afraid. The grandeur of the Son
of God filled them with fear.
Still
today, amidst the storms of our lives, when our energy gives out, we can hear
the Lord Jesus saying to us, “It is I; do not be afraid.” He is our Savior, our
help amidst danger, our Pastor who will never abandon us. It’s he that directs
our lives for the better, including if the circumstances seem to show the
contrary. He knows our weaknesses, our falls, and is the one to raise us. It is
he who allows the storm but has the power to detain it and lead us to a safe
port.
Prayer: Beloved
Lord Jesus, thank you for always putting yourself in our place and
understanding us. Thank you because we can always listen to your voice in the
middle of the storm, giving us encouragement and security. Amen.

LA VOZ DE JESÚS EN LA TEMPESTAD
JUAN 6: 16-21
...mas él les dijo: Yo soy; no temáis
Juan 6:20
Era de noche y los discípulos atravesaban el mar de Galilea en una barca
agitada por un fuerte viento. Después de haber remado un tramo, vieron a Jesús
que caminaba sobre el agua e iba hacia ellos. ¡Jesús está por encima de todo:
su divino poder domina sobre las leyes y los fenómenos de la naturaleza! ¡Qué
extraño! Cuando los suyos lo vieron, tuvieron miedo. La grandeza del Hijo de
Dios los llenó de temor.
Todavía hoy, en medio de las tempestades de nuestra vida, cuando nuestra
energía se agota, podemos oír al Señor Jesús decirnos: Yo soy; no temáis. Él es nuestro Salvador, nuestro socorro en
medio del peligro, nuestro Pastor que nunca nos abandonará. Él es el que dirige
nuestras vidas para bien, incluso si las circunstancias parecen mostrar lo
contrario. Él conoce nuestras debilidades, nuestras caídas, y es quien nos levanta.
Él es quien permite la tempestad, pero tiene el poder de detenerla y
conducirnos a buen puerto.
Oración: Amado Señor Jesús, gracias por
ponerte siempre en nuestro lugar y entendernos. Gracias porque siempre podemos
escuchar tu voz en medio de la tempestad, dándonos aliento y seguridad. Amén.
