THE FUTURE

HAGGAI 2:18-19

…or the vine, the fig tree, or the pomegranate—or has the olive tree not borne fruit? 

From this day forward, I will bless you.

Haggai 2:19b (CEB)

The future is hidden from us.  Nevertheless, here we have a mirror in which we can look at the coming days.  The Lord says:  from this day forward, I will bless you.

It is worth noting the day which this promise refers to.  There had been a bad harvest and an east wind, all caused by the sinning of God’s people.  Now the Lord sees that these who had been punished were beginning to obey his Word, and to edify his temple, and for this he says:  Today…you have been placed as the foundations of my temple.  From this day forward, I will bless you.

If we have lived in any error, and the Spirit helps us overcome it, we can count on the blessing of the Lord.  God’s smile, God’s Spirit, God’s grace and broad revelation of his truth, all manifest to us as a multiplied blessing. Our faithfulness may cause us to be shunned by human beings, but we have a more intimate communion with the Lord our God, and a clearer view of our acceptance in Him. 

Prayer: Lord, I am ready to be more faithful to you, and I beg you to multiply the blessing of my daily life. Amen.

EL FUTURO

HAGEO 2:18-19

...ni la vid, ni la higuera, ni  el granado, ni el árbol de olivo ha florecido todavía; mas desde este día os bendeciré

Hageo 2:19b

Lo futuro está escondido de nosotros. Sin embargo, aquí tenemos un espejo en el cual podemos ver los días venideros. El Señor dice: a partir de hoy, yo los bendeciré.

Vale la pena notar el día al cual se refiere esta promesa. Había habido mala cosecha, viento solano, y todo a causa del pecado de su pueblo. Ahora el Señor vio que estos que habían sido castigados empezaban a obedecer su Palabra, y a edificar su templo, y por lo tanto dice:  Hoy… han sido puestos los cimientos de mi templo. A partir de hoy, yo los bendeciré.

Si hemos vivido en cualquier error, y el Espíritu nos guía a apartarnos de ello, podemos contar con la bendición del Señor. Su sonrisa, su Espíritu, su gracia y la revelación amplia de su verdad, todo  nos manifiesta una bendición aumentada.

Sufriremos tal vez mayor oposición de los seres humanos a causa de nuestra fidelidad, pero nos elevaremos a una comunión más íntima con el Señor nuestro Dios, y a una vista más clara de nuestra aceptación en Él.

Oración: Señor, estoy dispuesto a serte más fiel, y te ruego por tanto que aumentes la bendición de mi vida diaria. Amén.
