 LET US USE OUR GIFTS AND TALENTS

1 CORINTHIANS 12:14-20

As it is, there are many parts, but one body... (NIV)

1 Corinthians 12:20

On some occasions a Christian with a gift or special ability doesn’t exert it due to not believing he has much to contribute. Possibly he may believe that his gift is too small in comparison to the abilities of believers with more visible talents. Perhaps he feels unworthy given past failures. Or it could be that he feels impeded by circumstances beyond his control.     

But God has given him that gift, and the believer can be certain that if he is willing to utilize it the Lord will work through him to give blessings to others. Whatever your limitations may be, God has a plan that is appropriate for you. Don’t allow your limitations to stop you. Realistically evaluate your talents and abilities, and afterwards discover the work that God has composed just for you.   

This year our church is placing emphasis on the subject of unity. It’s necessary that each member feel themselves to be part of that body that is the community. Therefore, every contribution, each gift, every act of service and collaboration will enable the desired unity and the joy of fulfilling God’s will.     

Prayer:  Beloved God, we ask for confidence in our gifts and talents, and that we may be able to use them for the work in your Kingdom. May we build up our community with those gifts you have provided for us! Amen.

USEMOS NUESTROS DONES Y TALENTOS

1 CORINTIOS 12:14-20

Pero ahora son muchos los miembros,

pero el cuerpo es uno solo.

1 Corintios 12:20

En algunas ocasiones un cristiano con un don o capacidad particular no lo ejerce, debido a que no cree que tenga mucho con qué contribuir. Posiblemente crea que su don es demasiado pequeño en comparación con las capacidades de creyentes con talentos más visibles. Quizás se sienta indigno debido a pasados fracasos. O puede que se sienta impedido por circunstancias más allá de su control. Pero Dios le ha dado aquel don, y el creyente puede tener la certeza de que si está dispuesto a utilizarlo, el Señor obrará a través de él para dar bendición a otros. Sean cuales fueran tus limitaciones, Dios tiene un plan que es apropiado para ti. No dejes que tus limitaciones te detengan. Evalúa de una manera realista tus talentos y capacidades, y después encuentra el trabajo que Dios ha compuesto justo para ti.

En este año, nuestra Iglesia pone su énfasis en el tema de la unidad. Es preciso que cada uno se sienta parte de ese cuerpo que es la comunidad. Por tanto, cada aporte, cada don, cada acto de servicio y colaboración posibilitará la unidad anhelada y el gozo de cumplir la voluntad de Dios.

Oración: Dios amado, te pedimos confianza en nuestros dones y talentos, y que podamos usarlos para el trabajo en tu Reino. ¡Qué edifiquemos la comunidad con aquellos dones que tú has provisto para nosotros! Amén.
