IDENTIFY YOURSELF

ROMANS 7:15-25

I do not understand what I do.

Romanos 7:15

Paul writes to the believers in Rome, confessing this sad reality: of our intending to do good but many times only succeeding to do evil. That even knowing the good we don’t carry it out, just the opposite, we fall into the evil we know we shouldn’t do.  On one hand temptations can overcome us; but the most important thing is not to offer masks that conceal the reality of our actions. At times we’re specialists in wearing masks, as long as our most negative intentions are disguised and don’t come to light.

If we trust that adulterated guile, we will never be what we should be before God. Only He, by the redeeming work of Jesus Christ acting in our lives, is the remedy to liberate us from this body of death, as the Apostle exclaims.

Prayer:  Lord, we ask that you allow us to recognize our evil actions, and be conscious of the necessity of you in our daily lives at all times. Amen.

IDENTIFIQUESE A SÍ MISMO

ROMANOS 7:15-25

No entiendo qué me pasa pues no hago lo que quiero sino lo que aborrezco.

Pablo escribe a los creyentes en Roma y les confiesa esta triste

realidad nuestra de que intentando hacer el bien muchas veces solo logramos hacer lo malo, conociendo lo bueno, no lo llevamos a efecto sino que por el contrario, caemos en el mal que sabemos no deberíamos obrar.

Por un lado las tentaciones nos pueden vencer, pero lo más importante es no intentar ofrecer máscaras que maquillen la realidad de nuestro actuar. Somos a veces especialistas en por-tar máscaras con tal que nuestras intenciones más negativas sean disfrazadas y no salgan a la luz.

Si confiamos en esa astucia adulterada, nunca seremos lo que debemos ser delante de Dios. Sólo Él, mediante la obra redentora de Jesucristo actuando en nuestras vidas, es el remedio para librArnos de este cuerpo de muerte, tal como exclamara el apóstol.

Oración: Señor, te pedimos que nos permitas reconocer nuestro mal actuar y estar consciente de la necesidad de Ti en nuestra vida diaria, en todo momento. Amén.
