A PRIORITY

MATTHEW 6 :1-13

When you pray, go into your room, close the door

and pray to your Father who is unseen.

Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret,

will reward you.   (NIV)

Matthew 6:6

We receive the necessary energies to live as true Christians when we enter some place to pray in secret. But at times, with the pretext of insufficient time, we neglect this encounter with our Father. If we don’t find a moment for prayer in secret, but do find it to construe some other activity, we run the risk of withering in our spiritual lives.   

Isn’t it true that it’s easy to find time for everything except for being alone with God? We have time for conversations that are, at times useless, and don’t find it to converse with Him. In reality, all these distractions are temptations we put in our way, with the end of impeding our communication with the Father.   

The Bible indicates the time that the believer should dedicate to prayer. Thus, then, we speak to him about our joys, sadness, illnesses, needs and failings. Prayer is the expression of a striving faith.

Prayer: Thank you God for the most potent weapon we have in prayer to fight the good fight of faith. Amen.

UNA PRIORIDAD

MATEO 6 :1-13

Cuando ores, entra en tu aposento, y cerrada la puerta,

ora a tu Padre que está en secreto; y tu Padre que ve

en lo secreto te recompensará en público

Mateo 6:6

Cuando nosotros entramos en algún lugar para orar en secreto, recibimos las energías necesarias para vivir como verdaderos cristianos. Pero a menudo descuidamos este encuentro con nuestro Padre con el pretexto de la falta de tiempo. Si no hallamos un momento para la oración en secreto, y sin embargo sí lo encontramos para desarrollar cualquier otra actividad, corremos el riesgo de marchitarnos en nuestra vida espiritual.

¿No es cierto que fácilmente encontramos tiempo para todo, salvo para estar a solas con Dios? Disponemos de tiempo para conversaciones a veces inútiles y no lo hallamos para conversar con Él. Todas estas distracciones en realidad son tentaciones que nos ponen en nuestro camino con el fin de impedir nuestra comunicación con el Padre.

La Biblia nos indica el tiempo que el creyente debe dedicar a la oración. Así entonces, hablémosle de nuestras alegrías, tristezas, enfermedades, necesidades y faltas. La oración es expresión de una fe luchadora.

Oración: Gracias Dios, por el arma tan potente que tenemos en la oración para pelear la buena batalla de la fe. Amén.
