YOU HAVE VERY LITTLE FAITH

Matthew 17: 14-21

            In this passage a father is tormented by the situation of his demoniac son, possibly an epileptic; the truth is that the condition of the son was a tremendous problem not only for the afflicted one but for his whole family. They come to Jesus in search of a solution; they had brought the boy to the disciples, and in their own words, “they weren’t able to heal him.” The dialogue following the healing is interesting: Why couldn’t we do this? Jesus reply is cutting: “Because you have very little faith.”

            When we have insufficient faith, we become “sticks in the stream” that interrupt its flow. We become obstacles to God’s work because we attribute more power to the problems than to the solutions. There is always someone who, when making a plan in the Church, asks in disbelief, “And can it be done?” I like to think that the letters of the word faith (FE in Spanish) are F for Strength (Fuerza in Spanish) and E for Hope (Esperanza in Spanish). When we have Strength and Hope we can move mountains.

            Never stop trying, because with faith you can do incredible things. Strength and hope for life is living in joy and giving joy, it is facing challenges every day with the assurance that in Christ we are more than conquerors.

 

Prayer: Lord, increase our faith. Help us to live with Strength and Hope to confront our daily challenges. Amen.

USTEDES TIENEN MUY POCA FE

Mateo14-21

            En este pasaje un padre está atormentado por la situación de su hijo endemoniado, quizáás era epiléptico; lo cierto es que el padecimiento del hijo de este hombre era un tremendo problema no solo para el enfermo sino para toda la familia. Vienen a Jesús en busca de soluciones; lo había traído a los discípulos y según sus mismas palabras "no lo han podido sanar". El diálogo después de la sanidad es interesante: ¿Por quéé nosotros no pudimos hacer esto?; la respuesta de Jesús es tajante: “Porque ustedes tienen muy poca fe”.

            Cuando no tenemos suficiente fe nos convertimos en “palos de cañada”, que entorpecen el flujo del. Obstaculizamos la obra de Dios porque le damos más valor a los problemas que a las soluciones. Siempre hay alguien que cuando se hace algún plan en la Iglesia pregunta con incredulidad ¿y se podráá? Me gusta pensar que las dos letras de la palabra FE son F de fuerza y E de esperanza. Cuando tenemos fuerzas y esperanza podemos mover montañas.

            Nunca dejes de intentar porque con fe puedes hacer cosas increíbles. Fuerza y esperanza para la vida es vivir en alegría y dando alegría, es enfrentar cada día los retos con la seguridad de que en Cristo somos más que vencedores.

 

Oración: Señor aumenta nuestra fe. Ayúdanos a vivir con fuerza y esperanza para enfrentar los retos del día a día. Amén.
