WE SING TO YOU BECAUSE YOU SAVED US

PSALM 81:1-5

Sing aloud to God our strength!

                                                                                                 Psalm 81:1-5 (NRSV)

Our own history is a continuity with the same and only history of God’s people in all times and places. So with the arrival of the new moon, as well as the arrival of the full moon, we pray to God who hears our prayers, delivers us from all evil, offers us freedom and lightens our burdens.

Every week when we gather for worship on divine initiative, we celebrate the liberating acts God performs in us. Music and singing are perfect means for expressing the gratitude of our hearts, so our singing must be neither shy nor monotonous. Our voices even if untrained, must express our joy and our gratitude to the good God who brings us salvation.

This psalm also reminds us that every day is a special occasion to connect  with God’s goodness, and to exclaim with joy: “With joy we want to praise you, we come to You today with joy to sing. Your commandments are loving, and our lives are given to you Lord.”

Prayer: Lord, on this new day may you give me the ability to feel gratitude. Keep me alert Lord, on this new day, may you give me gratitude. Keep me alert and in an attitude of openness towards any new life. Amen.

TE CANTAMOS PORQUE NOS HAS SALVADO

SALMO  81:1-5
