HAPPY GRATITUDE
PSALM 100
Because the Lord is Good, his loyal love lasts forever; his faithfulness lasts generation after generation.
Psalm 100:5 (CEB)
A very old poor woman was planting an apple when she was rudely interrupted by someone who asked her:
- “Why are you planting trees whose fruit you cannot eat?”
Raising her head, the old woman replied:
- “Someone planted trees before I was born and I ate his fruit, and now I plant for others, so that the memory of my gratitude exists when I have gone.
For some people, gratitude can seem a disused value. Self reliance and selfishness prevent many people from being grateful. The psalmist had powerful reasons to feel grateful. He explained them this way. Because he made us, we are his people, we are sheep in his pasture …his love is eternal and his faithulness has no end: and he praised him with happiness and gave thanks to God. Great confidence and security leave us knowing that his mercy and fidelity are not passing, that they never wane and are renewed every day!

Prayer: Lord, I praise you and give you thanks for giving us today your love and infinite pardon. Amen

GRATITUD ALEGRE
SALMO 100
Porque el Señor es bueno; su amor es eterno y su fidelidad no tiene fin..
Salmo 100:5
Una pobre mujer, muy anciana, estaba plantando un manzano cuando fue rudamente interrumpida por alguien que le dijo:
- “¿Por qué planta usted árboles cuyos frutos no puede llegar a comer?”
Levantando la cabeza la anciana replicó:
- “Alguien plantó árboles antes de que yo naciera y yo comí de su fruto, y ahora planto para otros, para que la memoria de mi gratitud exista cuando yo me haya ido.”
Para algunas personas la gratitud puede parecer un valor en desuso, la autosuficiencia y el egoísmo impide a muchas personas ser agradecidas. El salmista tuvo razones poderosas para sentirse agradecido, y las expuso así, porque él nos hizo, somos pueblo suyo, somos ovejas de su prado… su amor es eterno y su fidelidad no tiene fin: y por eso alabó¢ con alegría y dio gracias a Dios. ¡Gran confianza y seguridad nos da saber que su misericordia y fidelidad no son pasajeras, que nunca decaen y que se renuevan cada día!

Oración: Señor, te alabo y te doy gracias por darnos hoy tu amor y por tu infinito perdón. Amén.
