Valentine’s Day

LOVE, THE MOST IMPORTANT GIFT

1 Corinthians 13

And now these three things remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.(NIV)

1 Corinthians  13:13

            We feel love from the beginning of our lives. It’s a gift from God. It can have various manifestations: filial love toward those closest to us. Fraternal love toward our friends. Romantic, toward the pair. Love toward one’s neighbor, very important since it’s one of God’s commandments. To the animals, the pets that make our lives so happy.   To the homeland where we’re born. Love toward a project, a goal, an idea. And among others, especially to God.

            Love is permanent, understanding. It avoids hurt. Love is not vengeful. It rejoices with the good that there is with one’s neighbor and takes part in it. Love is to serve, it’s selfless and free, since it renounces its own rights if necessary. It seeks and accepts truth.

            Since the creation we see the immense love God has gifted us. With love we will see him face to face and know ourselves as he knows us. That day will not arrive if we lack love, because God is love, and everything he loves he will see. 

            Let us remember the words of the Apostle Paul: to have love is to overcome everything, believe everything, hope for everything, endure everything.

Prayer: Celestial Father, thank you for loving us. Help us to love others as you have loved us. Amen.

Día del Amor

AMOR: EL DON MAS IMPORTANTE

1 Corintios 13

Y ahora permanecen la fe, la esperanza y el amor...pero el mayor de ellos es el amor

1 Corintios  13:13

            Desde el comienzo de nuestra vida, sentimos amor, es un regalo de Dios. Puede tener varias manifestaciones; amor filial: a nuestros seres más allegados. Fraternal: a nuestros amigos. Romántico: hacia la pareja. Al prójimo: muy importante, pues es uno de los mandamientos de Dios. A los animales, a las mascotas que tanto nos alegran la vida. A la Patria donde nacemos, amor  a un proyecto, a una meta,  a una idea,  y especialmente a Dios, entre otros.

            El amor es permanente, es comprensivo. Evita lo hiriente. El amor no  es vengativo. Se alegra de lo bueno que hay con el prójimo y participa de ello. El amor es servir,  es desinteresado y gratuito, pues renuncia a sus propios derechos si es necesario. Busca la verdad y la acepta.

            Desde la creación vemos el inmenso amor que Dios nos regaló. Con amor lo veremos un día cara a cara y conoceremos como Él nos conoce. Ese día no llegará si no tenemos el amor, porque Dios es amor,  y todo el que ama lo podrá ver.

            Unámonos a las palabras del apóstol Pablo: tener amor es superarlo todo, creerlo todo, esperarlo todo, soportarlo todo.

 

Oración: Padre celestial, gracias porque nos amas. Ayúdanos a amar a otros como tú nos has amado. Amén.
