IT SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE

Isaiah 29:17-19

Nothing is impossible for God.

Luke 1:37 (CEB)

            When the prophets, under the influence of Palestinian culture, think and speak of the fertile land and the forests, they are doing it from a context where the norm is dryness, heat, and infertility. All these conditions are ones that the Jewish people could not resolve.  Because of this, when the prophet Isaiah tells us that Lebanon is about to be converted into a farmland and a forest, these are signs that show us the Presence of God—the deaf hear, the blind see, the oppressed become happy in the Lord, the poor rejoice in the Holy One of Israel— linking these with the conditions that humans can not transform.

            This is how God comes to our life; many times he does it through our difficulties and problems.  It is very important that you reflect that the Lord wants to come to our life to teach us that God is the one who has the power, that God is the only one who can carry out that which seems to us impossible. Who can make a blind person see?  Who can make a deaf person hear words?  Who can make an oppressed person happy and a poor person rejoice?  Only God.  

            Reflect on how much God has done for you.  What has God taken you out of?  How has God loved you?  How has God protected you?  How has God been noticing you? 

 

Prayer: Lord, give me faith to be able to see the signs of your love in my life.  Amen.

PARECE IMPOSIBLE

Isais 29:17-19

¡Para Dios no hay nada imposible!

Lucas 1:37

            Cuando los profetas, bajo el influjo de la cultura palestina, piensan y hablan de los campos fértiles y de los bosques, están haciéndolo desde un contexto en que lo normal es la sequedad, el calor, la infertilidad; situaciones, todas ellas, que el pueblo judío no podía solucionar. Por eso, cuando el profeta Isaías nos dice que el Líbano está a punto de convertirse en un campo fértil, y este en un bosque, así como los signos con los que expresa la presencia de Dios -los sordos que oyen, los ciegos que ven, los oprimidos que se alegran en el Señor, los pobres que se gozan en el Santo de Israel- está vinculándolo con situaciones que el ser humano no puede transformar.

            Así es como Dios llega a nuestra vida; muchas veces lo hace a través de nuestras dificultades y problemas. Es muy importante que reflexiones que el Señor quiere venir a nuestra vida para enseñarnos que Él es el que tiene el poder, que es el único que puede realizar lo que a nosotros nos puede parecer imposible. ¿Quién puede hacer que un ciego vea? ¿Quién puede hacer que un sordo oiga unas palabras? ¿Quién puede hacer que un oprimido se alegre y un pobre goce? Solamente Dios.

            Reflexiona cuánto ha hecho Dios por ti. ¿De dónde te ha sacado? ¿Cómo te ha amado? ¿Cómo te ha protegido? ¿Cómo se ha ido fijando en ti?

Oración: Señor, dame fe para poder ver en mi vida las señales de tu Amor. Amén.
