WE ARE THE MESSENGERS OF THE WAY

Malachi 3:1-4

See, I am sending my messenger to prepare the way before me...

To walk through life requires courage, firmness and confidence. It is vital to enjoy every step, every detail of the journey; Try to put a pause on our anxieties, and not cling to the rush of arriving at the end of the road.

It has been popularly said, “All roads lead to Rome.” However, for Christians, not all roads lead to God. Apathy, hopelessness, heartbreak, and selfishness are burdens we can never place in our travel bags. They are such heavy burdens that they threaten the energy and courage with which we begin our journey! They discourage us from being the messengers who proclaim the truths of God's Kingdom!

Advent is the time to transform those paths that do not lead to God: it is time to put in our luggage everything that gives meaning to life; It is time to correct our march...change the cadence of our steps; It is the time to sweep away injustices and sadness; time to tune our strings and sing the most joyful message of the Gospel. It's time to immerse yourself in the waters; to announce the baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire!

 

Prayer: Thank you Eternal God for the meeting on the road; path of learning and full life. Give us your wisdom and creativity to bring your light to the darkness; to share your words in these complex times. Join us on this mission, today, tomorrow and always, Amen.

SOMOS LOS MENSAJEROS DEL CAMINO

Malaquías 3:1-4

He aquí, yo envío mi mensajero, el cual preparará el camino delante de mí...

Malaquías 3: 1a

Para caminar por la vida se requiere de valentía, de firmeza y confianza. Es vital el disfrute de cada paso, de cada detalle del trayecto; tratar de poner pausa a nuestras ansiedades, y no aferrarse a la prisa de la llegada al final del camino.

Popularmente se ha dicho: "Todos los caminos conducen a Roma". Sin embargo, para los cristianos/as, no todos los caminos conducen a Dios. La apatía, la desesperanza, el desamor y el egoísmo son cargas que nunca podemos colocar en nuestras bolsas de viaje. ¡Son cargas tan pesadas que atentan contra la energía y el arrojo con los que iniciamos el andar! ¡Nos desaniman en el empeño de ser los mensajeros/as que proclaman las verdades del Reino de Dios!

El Adviento es el tiempo para transformar esas sendas que no conducen a Dios: es tiempo para poner en nuestro equipaje todo aquello que dé sentido a la vida; es tiempo para corregir la marcha...cambiar la cadencia de nuestros pasos; es el tiempo para barrer las injusticias y las tristezas; tiempo para afinar nuestras cuerdas y cantar el mensaje más jubiloso del Evangelio. ¡Es tiempo de sumergirse en las aguas; de anunciar el bautismo del Espíritu Santo y fuego!

 

Oración: Gracias Dios Eterno por el encuentro en el camino; camino de aprendizaje y vida plena. Regálanos de tu sabiduría y creatividad para llevar tu luz a las oscuridades; para compartir tu Palabras en estos tiempos tan complejos. Acompáñanos en esta misión, hoy, mañana y siempre, Amén.
