YOUR WORD IS LIGHT FOR OUR PATH

Psalm 117: 1-2

the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever

This summer we were invited to participate in a Popular Bible Reading Workshop given by a Brazilian theologian. He tells us that when the biblical text produces life, we are on the right track.

This psalm has only two verses, making it the shortest psalm in the Book of Psalms and the shortest chapter in the entire Bible.

The psalmist exhorts all peoples to praise God intelligently, to trust in God, to live without fear; for in the midst of the hardest sorrows God does not abandon us. It teaches us not only to speak to God, but to listen. It stands out as a profound call to worship, to worship God, and to give Him our love, reverence, service, and devotion.

God's companionship gives us courage and enables us to face difficulties with the optimistic assurance that with God we will be victorious.

 

Prayer: Thank you, Lord. All the credit goes to you. I owe it to you; you alone are worthy of all praise. Amen.

TU PALABRA ES LUZ PARA NUESTRO CAMINO

Salmo 117: 1-2

La fidelidad del Señor es eterna.

Salmo 117:2

En este verano fuimos convocados a participar en un Taller de Lectura Popular de la Biblia impartido por un teólogo brasileño. Él nos decca que cuando el texto bcblico produce vida estamos en buen camino.

Este salmo tiene solo dos verscculos, por lo que resulta el salmo más corto del Libro de los Salmos y el capctulo más corto de toda la Biblia.

El salmista exhorta a todos los pueblos a alabar a Dios inteligentemente, a confiar en Dios, a vivir sin temor; porque en medio de las más duras penas Él no nos abandona. Nos enseña no solo a hablarle a Dios, sino a escuchar. Se destaca como un profundo llamado a la adoración, a adorar a Dios y brindarle nuestro amor, reverencia, servicio y devoción.

Su compañca nos infunde valor y nos permite enfrentar las dificultades con la optimista seguridad de que con Dios saldremos victoriosos.
