FOLL0WERS OF JESUS CHRIST 

Luke 5: 27-32

I have not come to call the righteous  but sinners to repentance..

Each one of us has a different personal experience of our encounter with God and the determination to follow Him. Jesus has called us, and in this process of following Him we leave behind issues that may have seemed pleasant to us and make us doubt what is a priority for our life

And following Jesus implies determination, dedication and responsibility; it means leaving everything that gives us pleasure, but enslaves us. It means really believing in his goodness and promises, which are new every day and much better than what we believe. Following him brings us great benefits: it is knowing where we are going and who we serve, it is finding the solid rock on which we can support ourselves.

Lent prepares us to follow Jesus with renewed energy and the decision to invite others to join us on the path to the security of his grace, because the more we follow him, the more we know him and enjoy his indescribable and glorious joy. By giving our lives they are molded so truly made in His image and likeness.

 

Prayer: Lord, during this time of lent may our attention and actions always be fixed on you and may the commitment to follow you be a necessity that like a flame always burns in our hearts. Amen

SEGUIDORES DE JESUCRISTO

Lucas 5: 27-32

No he venido a llamar a justos, sino a pecadores al arrepentimiento.

Lucas 5:32

Cada uno de nosotros tiene una experiencia personal diferente sobre nuestro encuentro con Dios y la determinación de seguirle; Jesús nos ha llamado, y en este proceso de seguirle dejamos cuestiones que pudieron parecernos placenteras y nos hacen dudar de lo prioritario para nuestra vida.

Y es que seguir a Jesús implica determinación, entrega y responsabilidad, es dejar todo lo que nos da placer, pero nos esclaviza; significa creer realmente en sus bondades y promesas, que son nuevas cada dia y mucho mejores que lo que creemos; seguirle nos trae grandes beneficios: es saber a dónde vamos y a quién servimos, es encontrar la roca sólida en la que podemos apoyamos.

La Cuaresma nos prepara para seguir a Jesús con energias renovadas y la decisión de invitar a otros acompañarnos en el camino hacia la seguridad de su gracia, porque mientras más lo seguimos, más le conocemos y disfrutaremos de su gozo indescriptible y glorioso; al entregarnos nuestras vidas son moldeadas para que esta sea realmente hecha a su imagen y semejanza.

 

Oración: Señor, que en este tiempo de Cuaresma nuestra mirada y acciones estén puestas siempre en ti y que el compromiso de seguirte sea una necesidad que como llama arda siempre en nuestros corazones. Amén
