Valentine’s Day

SERVE IN SILENCE

Matthew 6: 1-6, 16-18

Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.  (NIV)

Matthew 6:1

It is difficult in today’s world for an action to be carried out in a completely selfless manner. Even when we do not receive material benefit, we always tend to expect something in return.

When it comes to helping, it makes no sense to even expect a thank you. The good actions we can do daily are the result of a greatness of heart, which often ignores all the gardens of goodness it leaves in its wake.

To please God, we only have to love ourselves; from the roots of our humanity be able to feel empathy for any living being, for creation . . . . We do not have to announce or strategically choose who and when to offer our help.

Not in vain, one of the two most important commandments that Jesus left us was to love our neighbor, and that would be nothing more than a duty as Christians.

 

Prayer: Lord Jesus, may whatever arm we extend to help be silent and without pride. Amen.

DÍA DEL AMOR

SERVIR EN SILENCIO

Mateo 6: 1-6. 16-18

Tengan cuidado de no practicar sus obras de piedad delante de los hombres para que los vean. De lo contrario, no tendrán recompensa con su Padre celestial.

En el mundo de hoy es dificil que una acción se realice de manera completamente desinteresada; aún cuando no recibimos beneficio material, siempre tendemos a esperar algo a cambio.

No tiene sentido, cuando de ayudar se trata, esperar si quiera un agradecimiento por ello. Las buenas acciones que podamos hacer a diario, son el resultado de una grandeza de corazón, que muchas veces, desconoce todo el jardin de bondad que va dejando a su paso.

Para agradar a Dios solamente hay que amarnos, desde la raiz de nuestra humanidad, ser capaces de sentir empatia por cualquier ser viviente, por la creación... No hay que anunciar o ni elegir estratégicamente a quién y cuándo ofrecer nuestra ayuda. No en valde uno de los dos mandamientos más importantes que nos dejó Jesús fue amar a nuestro prójimo, y eso no ser ia más que un deber como cristianos y cristianas.

 

Oración: Jesús, que sea en silencio y sin orgullo cualquier brazo que extienda para ayudar. Amén.
