LISTEN TO THE PRAYER OF YOUR CHILDREN

1 Kings 8: 22-23, 27-30

Hear the plea of your servant and of your people Israel when they pray toward this place; O hear in heaven your dwelling place; heed and forgive.

1 Kings 8:30 (NRSV)

We often become overwhelmed with situations in everyday life, family, work or study, and so many other things, turning to all types of alternatives for their solution or minimization. We forget that prayer is a most powerful tool in the hands of those who love God and search for Him with a sincere heart.

Solomon had brought the Ark of the Covenant into the Temple, newly constructed as a place for prayer, worship and the communion of the people. God manifested himself by making himself present in the midst of the gathered assembly. He is the same forever, the God of their ancestors, the God of liberation from slavery, the God who prepared a place for them to live, the God who has not forgotten his promises and continues to accompany them, his people.

Christians have believed in this liberating God who accompanies, who loves profoundly all of his creation; who is manifest through his son Jesus Christ. Let us pray faithfully and with the certainty that God listens to the prayers of his children.

 

Prayer: Merciful God, we thank you for your infinite love for all your creation to whom you transmit the breath of life. Show yourself in the midst of your pepople who raise their prayers and need to be heard. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

ESCUCHA LA ORACIÓN DE TUS HIJOS

1 Reyes 8: 22 – 23, 27 – 30

(...) escucha la oración que tu servidor te dirige en este lugar. Oye, pues, la plegaria de tu siervo y de tu pueblo Israel cuando oren en este lugar. Escucha tú desde el lugar de tu morada, desde el cielo, escucha y perdona

Muchas veces nos abrumamos con situaciones de la vida cotidiana, familia, trabajo o estudio, y tantas otras recurriendo a todo tipo de alternativas para su solución o para su minimización. Olvidamos que la oración es una herramienta muy poderosa en manos de los que aman a Dios y le buscan con sincero corazón.

Salomón ha trasladado el Arca de la alianza para el Templo recién construido, como lugar para la oración, la adoración y la comunión del pueblo. Dios se manifiesta haciéndose presente en medio de la asamblea reunida, es el mismo por siempre, el de sus antepasados, el de la liberación de la esclavitud, el que les preparó un lugar para vivir, el que no ha olvidado sus promesas y continúa acompañando a su pueblo.

Las cristianas y los cristianos hemos creído en ese Dios liberador, que acompaña, que ama profundamente a toda su creación, que se manifiesta a través de su hijo Jesucristo. Oremos con fe y con la certeza de que Dios escucha la oración de sus hijos.

 

Oración: Dios de misericordia, te agradecemos tú amor infinito a toda la creación, a la cual transmites aliento de vida. Manifiéstate siempre en medio de tú pueblo que eleva su oración y necesita ser escuchado. En el nombre de Jesús te lo pedimos. Amén.
