“JESUS IS OUR HOPE TODAY”

Mark 16:9-15

Later Jesus appeared to the eleven as they were eating. He rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.

As we read today’s text, we encounter disciples who were sorrowful and weeping, unable to believe that Jesus had risen, despite the testimonies of Mary Magdalene and others. This reveals something deeply human: pain and hardship can cloud our faith and harden our hearts.

Today, sorrow, weariness, scarcity, and uncertainty may feel like our daily bread. Yet Jesus does not abandon us. Instead, he appears to us, lovingly reproaches us when our hearts are hardened, and then sends us forth to share the Good News. This is pure hope for us today: the Risen Christ comes to meet us amidst our tears. He does not wait for us to be perfect, nor does he require us to possess a colossal faith. Even in the face of discouragement and farewells, the tomb is empty, and therein lies our strength: Jesus lives, and he entrusts us with a mission that restores our dignity and purpose.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, who rises amidst difficult circumstances, we give you thanks, for you grant us strength when we are tempted to surrender in the face of scarcity and despondency. Grant us hope and touch our hearts. Heal our wounds, provide bread for our tables and peace for our souls, and make of us bearers of your Good News: You live, and that changes everything. In your name, Amen.

“JESÚS ES NUESTRA ESPERANZA HOY”

Marcos 16:9-15

“(…) Jesús se les apareció a los once discípulos mientras ellos comían. Los reprendió por su falta de confianza y por su terquedad; ellos no habían creído a los que lo habían visto resucitado”.

Marcos 16:14

Al leer el texto de hoy nos encontramos con unos discípulos que estaban tristes, llorando y que no podían creer que Jesús había resucitado, a pesar de los testimonios de María Magdalena y de otros. Esto nos muestra algo muy humano: el dolor y las dificultades pueden nublar nuestra fe y endurecer nuestro corazón.

Hoy la tristeza, el cansancio, la escasez y la incertidumbre pueden ser el pan de cada día, pero Jesús no abandona; sino que se aparece, reprocha con amor cuando hay dureza de corazón y luego, envía a compartir la buena notica. Eso es esperanza pura para nosotros hoy: Cristo resucitado sale a nuestro encuentro en medio del llanto; no espera que seamos perfectos ni a que tengamos una fe gigante. Aunque haya desánimo y despedidas, el sepulcro está vacío, y esa es nuestra fuerza: Jesús vive y nos da una misión que nos devuelve la dignidad y el propósito.

Oración: Señor Jesús, que resucitas en medio de los contextos difíciles; te agradecemos porque nos das la fuerza cuando queramos rendirnos ante la escasez y el desaliento. Dános esperanza y toca nuestro corazón, sana nuestras heridas, danos pan en la mesa y paz en el alma, y haz de nosotros portadores de tu buena noticia: Tú vives, y eso cambia todo. En tu nombre, Amén.
